The immense beauty of Tanzania's vast savannah
Like no other place on earth, Africa satisfies the soul! Its vast diversity beckons us to explore new areas again and again, each showcasing its own unique landscape. The spiritual realization of seeing wildlife roaming freely in the African savannah and seeing Africa’s Big Five rocked my world indescribably. Of course, the itinerary included Serengeti, Ngorongoro, Tanzania. What a transformation this trip was! We have found our purpose in life. Now we have a new baby in our family 🤗. My wife and I will be back again. This region is unique and a great place to explore the remote areas of Tanzania and see big cats. From here, visiting the crater and/or a trip to the beaches of Zanzibar can easily be added. Needless to say, the opportunities for that “once in a lifetime experience” in Africa are endless. However, if you want to have a worry-free vacation, it is almost impossible to navigate the intricacies of travel without the help of staff who are knowledgeable about the area. So we booked the trip through Nasikia Safaris and I can't imagine traveling without them❣️ Thank you for enriching our lives immeasurably and for taking such good care of us throughout the journey. We celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary. To celebrate this milestone, we booked Nasikia Safaris local tour operator and thank you so much for this once in a lifetime experience! We had an 8 day safari. We arrived in Arusha, where we were met at the airport by Abas and our wonderful safari guide, Emanuel. We spent two nights in Arusha city for a much needed rest and to explore the city of Arusha before departing for our safari to the Serengeti! From Arusha we boarded a bush plane to the central Serengeti, where Emanuel met us at the airstrip and from there we began our wonderful safari! As soon as we left the airstrip, we saw elephants as there were very few jeeps in the park and Emanuel spotted a leopard resting in a large acacia tree. We noticed that there were two leopards in the tree, a female and a cub. What a great start to our safari and it just got better and better every day! We explored new areas every day on our safari and spent the night in three different locations. The first two were Kubukubu and our last was the beautiful Ngorongoro Crater! In the first two days of our safari we saw all four of the Big Five (Cape Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard and Lion) and countless other animals and birds! Emanuel our NS guide was like a living encyclopedia with a vast knowledge of all the animals, birds, flora and fauna as well as the Maasai people and their language and culture. We were very impressed with Emanuel’s ability to identify animals and birds, and he could tell us their names and characteristics without any hesitation! We learned a lot from Emanuel in our short 8 days together. Some of our most memorable moments were watching cheetahs and leopards roaming around in search of their next meal, and hundredsb to thousands of wildebeest and zebras walking together! We saw many lions on our safari, but the most memorable were the few young lion cubs. Seeing a male lion lazing on a rock was incredible! Seeing the Ngorongoro Crater and driving into it was absolutely beautiful! This beautiful caldera has its own environment and ecosystem and is home to an abundance of wildlife. Of course, it was also a chance for us to meet our goal of seeing the black rhino and seeing all of the Big Five. The Nasikia Safari was the perfect getaway to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary and fulfill a lifelong dream!
