What you'll see and do
Mount Kilimanjaro
Venture out for a day's hiking on Africa's highest mountain, at 19,341 feet (5,895 m) above sea level. Trek the easy-level route of Marangu and admire the stunning views of the 3 volcanic peaks of Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira as your guide explains their geology and surroundings. Depart from your hotel in a 7-seat 4x4 safari vehicle and drive to Kilimanjaro National Park Gate at Marangu. After a briefing from your professional guide, trek through the lush forest up to Mandara Hut at 9,022 feet (2,750 m). Admire the scenery that surrounds you and pause for photos of the 3 volcanic peaks. Listen as your guide explains the mountain's geology—Mawenzi and Shira are extinct, while Kibo, the highest, is dormant and could erupt again. Choose to have a break for a picnic lunch at Mandara Hut forest, or after your descent to Marangu Gate, approximately 2 hours away.

Fantastic day with great scenery
I had an incredible day with my guide Maleji. He has incredible knowledge and I felt completely safe he explained everything really well, the check in process through the gate was smooth and he was very sensitive to my fitness and ability. The scenery was beautiful, I loved seeing the blue monkeys and collabus monkeys. Overall a brilliant day and a great introduction to hiking on Mount Kilimanjaro if you don't have the time etc to do the whole thing.

Great tour!
Unbureaucratic contact via WhatsApp. Easy and safe payment upfront and very reliable service. I had booked a day hike on the slopes of Kilimanjaro. Oscar was a fantastic guide giving me lots of information. I can also recommend their two day safari, where they patiently tried to show us all the different animals within the parks. Can totally recommend them!

Awesome experience on Kili!
Awesome! Our trek on Kili was so professionally put together with a briefing meeting and excellent contact with owner, Mohamed. We asked him to customize our climb as one of us wanted to climb high and longer and they were more than happy to fulfill all we dreamed about Kilimanjaro. Our guides were so much fun and amazingly motivating when needed, lol. We were always comfortable and the food was delish! I would only ever use THIS company again if visiting Tanzania again.

Fun adventurous hike surrounded by stunning nature.
The day hike with John and Lucas was one of my highlights in Tanzania. We got picked up from the airport and went straight for kilimandjaro. It was a long day but it was such a nice physical activity. We enjoyed the diverse nature and the beauty of this mountain while having fun conversations with our guides. We also learnt a lot about it. I definitely recommend this day trip and even going all the way up if you have time. For me that's the goal next time for sure!

1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Arusha.
How much does 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro cost?
+
Prices start at $41 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Arusha usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro take?
+
Plan for about 12.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Arusha is not rushed.
Is 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Arusha, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 12.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Arusha can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Arusha and add a light layer if any part of the 12.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does 1 Day Marangu Route Climbing Kilimanjaro start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Arusha within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Arusha?
+
On Outty we rank every Arusha experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Materuni Waterfalls, coffee tour & Kikuletwa Hot Springs, 4 Days Group Camping Safari, 3 Days Serengeti & Ngorongoro Group Camping Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Arusha?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Arusha?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
