About this experience
This day tour takes in two of the best attractions in the UK, Windsor Castle and Stonehenge. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world and is said to be the Queen's favourite weekend home. Dating back to the 11th century Windsor is a must see attraction. The site of Stonehenge dating back around 5,000 years is still a mystery. We have an idea of what the site was built and used for but there are so many things about Stonehenge that we don't know about. See if you can work it out!

What you'll see and do
Windsor Castle
Windsor is said to be the favourite weekend retreat of the Queen. Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Visit the opulent state rooms and see the royal chapel where Harry and Megan were married. One thing not to miss is Queen Anne's dolls house with working plumbing and electricity. There is also a changing of the guard ceremony at Windsor that is more accessible to the public than the ceremony at Buckingham Palace. Please note: Windsor Castle is self guided as they have very strict rules on guiding in the castle and grounds. However, your entrance fee does include a very good audio guide for the castle. The chapel at Windsor Castle is closed on Sundays.

Private Tour
Our private guide David was wonderful and had a great personality. He was very informative and knowledgeable about the history of Windsor Castle and Stonehenge. Loved that we could also share BBC series that we enjoyed watching and recommending others to each other. Would hire David again for any tour.
Response from the operator: Hi Jenny, It was a pleasure driving both of you for the day and I am so glad you enjoyed the trip to Windsor and Stonehenge. Keep watching the BBC and I hope we meet again if you come back to the UK. David

Rock Star service
David was a great guide. Clearly he is a well traveled and fully knowledgeable of all the points of interest in and around our destination. My family travels constantly to different places so we do procure private tours regularly on our trips and I must say that this was one of the best.

One day to Windsor and stonehenge
David is wonderful, appointment 9am but he already at hotel standby 8am. He explains well and very knowledgable. We reach Windsor about 10.30am, did a quick tour and lunch to a nice local English pub for fish n chips. Travel to Stonehenge was very traffic but managed to reach by 3.30 pm and catch the sunsets, beautiful scenery. Travel to London takes 2 hours and David explains some useful history of the building in London while passing by. Totally recommended and David is such a nice and pleasant guy, wonderful guide and careful driver.

Why this scores 41
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.
How much does Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan cost?
+
Prices start at $850 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.
Is Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 41 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Windsor Castle and Stonehenge PRIVATE TOUR Luxury Sedan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in London?
+
London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit London?
+
May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in London?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
