    About this experience

Mornings in the city are fascinating because they always show you the most authentic aspect of how its inhabitants live in their hometown. Having a local brunch called almuerzo is a social activity shared by almost all people in Valencia. “Almorzar” is a gastronomic tradition that defines what Valencia is like and what its people are like: an irreducible village, proud of its culinary localisms! This unique cultural custom is explained more in detail by our local experts during this tour. If you have just arrived in town this is a perfect introduction to the Spanish gastronomy, the essentials of Valencia and the local culture. More than a tour, we will live a cultural, walking and gastronomic tour in the same experience. By the end of the adventure, you’ll know exactly why “Esmorzaret Valenciano” culture in the morning can’t exist outside of Valencia (so you’ll have to come back!).

    What you'll see and do

    1. Mercat Central de Valencia

A quick visit and a lovely tasting Mercat Central (Central Market) is a public market located across from the Llotja de la Seda and the church of the Juanes in central Valencia. It is one of the main works of the Valencian Art Nouveau. The Central Market of Valencia is one of the largest in Europe; it covers more than 8,000 square metres (86,000 sq ft), with a predominantly Valencian Art Nouveau style. Its unusual roof comprises original domes and sloping sections at different heights, while the interior seems to be lined in a range of materials such as iron, wood, ceramics and polychromed tiles. The beauty of the building stands out especially on account of the light that enters through the roof at various points, and through coloured window panels.

    Tapas fun

Our guide Fatine was wonderful. Engaging, bright and very knowledgeable. She held everyone’s attention in a lovely way. Food stops were all different and tasty. We were a couple that joined a family of 8 and had a wonderful time sharing the day. Highly recommend! Ask for Fatine

    Market gourmet experience

If you ever consider breakfast or brunch do not hesitate, just walk in, do a walk exploring the wide range of Spanish culinary goodies and drinks, then walk back and try everything you possibly can. I myself tried 11 different items, and repeated goat and sheep cheeses, thin rolls of meats, sausages and fruits and fruits… peach sangria, pineapple juice, expresso coffee with farm milk.

    Valencia Foods and Drinks

It was great to explore the food of Valencia through the eyes of a local. There was a lot of walking though. Bring some water!

    A Cacophony of Local Flavor

Andres was a wonderful tour guide. We sampled a large variety of local cuisine, and Andres told us the story of every dish. Very good variety.

    We were very excited to...

We were very excited to visit Valencia but were only in port for a few hours from a cruise. We decided on this tour since it was in the morning, and we'd be back to the ship in time. Our tour guide was Max. It was very easy to find him at the meeting point. We were the only ones on the tour so once we connected, we set off. He took us to 5 different spots. The first was a cafe where we had some orange juice, with some tomato spread on toast which was very good. Next, we went to a local place on the third floor of a building, where there were only locals. We had some delicious sandwiches as well as a local beer. Next we went down the sweet route with some coconut sweets followed by churros and some chocolate to dip it in. Both were absolutely delicious. Lastly, we went to the market where we had some tapas and another drink followed by some horchata to finish it off. Max was a great guide teaching us about the city and its history. He also told us more about him which was great and made the tour felt more personal. I cannot recommend this tour enough and if you take it, hopefully you get Max as he was a great guide.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.

How much does Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $77 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.

Is Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 69 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour?

    +

Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Valencia Morning Food Tour with Central Market by Food Lover Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valencia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
