Bike in Time wine tour a must!

I highly recommend the one day wine region tour. We went to the amazing historic Tohani vineyard. We had relaxed cycling through the vines and around the area on quiet roads. We learnt wine history tasting from the very knowledgeable wine master and experienced excellent wine. A great one day out if you are in Bucharest. They have great bikes and anyone can achieve it. Stefan our guide was very careful respectful and knowledgeable about Romania and cycling in Romania. Just do it!

Response from the operator: Hi Dianne, Thank you for your kind review, it is highly appreciated! We will send your appreciation to the sommelier and to Stefan! Best regards and have fun in your long journey, Bike in Time

Beautiful countryside ride to a vineyard

The day was wonderful! We had a lovely 15 mile (25KM) bicycle tour of the countryside, mainly rolling hills, ending in a beautiful vineyard. The tennis at the vineyard gave us an interesting tour ending with a fun and informative wine Tasting. This was the highlight of our trip to Romania.

    Great experience!

Ionit was flexible and assessed our interests and abilities (two ambitious elders) in selecting the route. He was knowledgeable about the region’s wines and local history. We had a fantastic time!

Response from the operator: Dear Kathleen, Thanks a lot for your visit and for choosing us for showing you around. It was a great pleasure to discuss with you. Have a nice trip and I hope to have you back in Romania for more visits!

    Pedalling through the vines.

Our guide Yuri was great. He catered for all our needs and was very patient when we could not make it up the hills. The equipment was in good repair and the final destination at Lacerta Winery was inspired. I would highly recommend Bike In Time.

    Biking and Enjoying Fine Wine

Our guide and owner of this amazing experience was lonuts. He is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the areas visited and Romania in general. He made sure the bikes were adjusted just right for each of us before we started. The bikes he provided were in excellent condition. The entire journey was approximately 18 miles. He provided each of us with a bottle of water. We stopped several times to make sure we were okay and to rest. The journey took us through several small towns, fields of sunflowers and grape vines. Our stay at the vineyard was one of the best we have ever experienced. We had an extremely knowledgeable guide who also was one of the senior staff at the winery. She took her time explaining the entire wine making process. At the end we were provided with meats, cheese and bread to go with our wine tastings. The wine was absolutely incredible. Very high end. All in all it was an experience we will never forget. Highly recommend if you enjoy biking and drinking fine wine.

Response from the operator: Dear Randol, Thanks a lot for your kind review! We spent together a great day, it was a pleasure to have you here. Many thanks from the hosts at the winery, they are highly appreciated your visit. Enjoy your stay in Romania and the trip you are going to experience! Best regards Bike in time

The wine route by bike: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.

How much does The wine route by bike cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The wine route by bike take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.

Is The wine route by bike worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The wine route by bike?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The wine route by bike suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The wine route by bike?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The wine route by bike start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bucharest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bucharest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bucharest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
