What you get

    About this experience

Welcome to the dark side of Bucharest. Close to the Old Town and even in the place where you are having fun in the evening, there are strange things happening. Be aware, there might be some uninvited “locals" joining us for this tour. As this place was inhabited more than 2000 years ago, the city has been a witness to many deaths, murders, mysteries and, if you pay attention, you will hear the voice of the underworld almost everywhere. The tour tells stories of haunted houses and places and of the horror mythology or Romania, an inspiration for the vampires. Oh…let’s not forget Dracula, he also seems to be present here, given his very strong connection with the city and its past. The tour includes stories from the guides knowledgeable in folklore, mythology and supernatural. They are not costumed and they are not actors performing scary scenes

    Romania already has...

Romania already has enough creepy history and spooky legends to keep you looking over your shoulder, but this tour brought all of it to life. 👻🇷🇴 Katy was an AMAZING storyteller — smart, knowledgeable, hilarious, and somehow made every story feel like we were actually there when it happened. You can tell she genuinely knows her stuff and knows exactly how to keep a group entertained. And whoever arranged the rain, perfectly timed flickering streetlights, and overall haunted Bucharest atmosphere deserves a raise. 😂 Clearly paid actors. 10/10 production value. If you’re visiting Bucharest and want something different from the typical sightseeing tour, DO THIS ONE. You’ll learn a ton about Romania’s darker, weirder history, laugh along the way, and possibly spend the rest of the night questioning every shadow you see. Absolutely worth it. 👻🖤 Would 100% recommend — especially if Katy is your guide!

    Must do!

Very interesting, I love learning about other cultures and beliefs. Who doesn’t love a good ghost story?! I enjoyed how a lot of it interlinked with the countries history. Elena was a brilliant tour guide, loved the quirky comments.

Came for the stories, stayed for the gifted storyteller.

This was quite a special experience that I highly recommend. The stories had a great impact and stayed with me, partly because of the well researched details of the stories, but mostly because Tudor is such a great storyteller. Thank you for an unforgettable evening ❤️.

Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.

How much does Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology cost?

    +

Prices start at $33 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.

Is Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 324 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology?

    +

Around 113 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Bucharest Ghosts Stories and Mythology start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bucharest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bucharest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bucharest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
