    Our guide Bodgen was very...

Our guide Bodgen was very friendly and knowledgeable. He provides lots of explanation of Romania on the way to the mines as well as when we are in the salt mines. He also proved us with the rich history and interesting sights and foods along the way. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your generous review! Looking forward to welcoming you again on our tours!

    Fantastic trip

The salt mines were an extraordinary experience, the winery tour and wines were great, the mud volcanoes were a little underwhelming.

    Great experience !

Our tour was perfectly planned by Mr. Adrian , who sent the detailed itinerary and confirmed with me everything before our departure day. Even though the company doesn't normally offer tours in romanian, Mr. Adrian was kind enough to prepare one just for us ! Our guide Mr. Octavian was great! Very knowledgeable , friendly and accommodating , making sure all through the day that we were happy. ( he even took photos for us ) We enjoyed the tour very much and I can't recommend them enough! Thank you!

    Don’t miss this

The Salt Mines are astonishing, something that you almost certainly never seen before. A must see!! We combined this tour with two more, visiting the Transylvanian cities of Brasov and Sighisoara. From all my previous European tours I’ve taken through TripAdvisor, this was the most intimate and insightful. This was not just a standard tour with fixed locations. We added various stops along the way and we went off the touristic beaten path. Thank you Adrian for a unique experience!!!

Three wonderful Romanian tours were provided Adrian

We signed up for three one day tours. Adrian was incredibly accommodating and allowed us to customize each tour throughout Romania . We hit all of the places on our wish list. Adrian knew every site, castle, etc we went to and gave us walking tours of each. He was very knowledgeable at each stop. That was amazing. He used a large van that gave everyone in our party (4) great views and lots of room to spread out. It also accommodated all of our luggage. While we had just experienced a river cruise with its own tours before arriving to Romania, there was no comparison to the tours that Adrian and his company provided. We highly recommend him

The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.

How much does The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $420 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.

Is The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Salt Mines, The Winery, The Muddy Volcanoes! The Fixers Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bucharest?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bucharest?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bucharest?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
