    2. Mandraki Harbour

Mandraki port is situated in the new part of the town where you will see some very impressive monumental buildings built by the Italians. Here at the harbour entrance is believed that once stood the great statue of the Colossus of Rhodes – one of the seven wonders of the Ancient World. We will stop for pictures of the area and you will be able also to enter and see the Church of the Annunciation which is the most famous church in Rhodes Town. Located north of Mandraki, the old port of the town, this church was constructed in the 1920s, during the Italian occupation of the island. The Church of the Annunciation celebrated on March 25th with a large religious festival.

    3. Colossus of Rhodes

One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Colossus of Rhodes was a gigantic statue of the god Helios. Erected by the sculptor Chares of Lindos, it was under construction from 292 BC till 280 BC and was considered as the tallest building of its time, standing at 30 feet. Built in memory of the defeat of the Roman Army, which was trying to take control of Rhodes, this giant statue represented a man holding a bow on one hand and a torch of light on the other. The statue of Colossus was put in the port, with its two feet standing on the edges of the entrance. The ships would pass under him. But in an area prone to earthquakes, the inevitable soon happened. In 226 BC, only 56 years after its construction, an earthquake hit Rhodes and the statue fell down. Snapping at the knees, the statue fell onto the land and broke in giant pieces. A sad end for what must have been a majestic work of art.

    4. The Acropolis of Rhodes

Now we will continue through the city and see more of the great Italian architecture. We will stop for pictures also at the Northern tip of the island where the Mediterranean and the Aegean seas meet each other. Then we will drive to Monthe Smith Hill where you can enjoy exceptional panoramic views of the city and the seashore, and also visit the ruins of the Temple of Apollo, the impressive open-air ancient Stadium and the Amphitheatre.

      20 minutes here

    5. Anthony Quinn Bay

Natural stone surfaces ideal for reclining under the sun, pine trees reaching down to the water’s edge, emerald green water – Anthony Quinn certainly showed impeccable taste when he fell in love with this miniature bay. The beach is known today by the actor’s name since he bought this part of the island when filming “The Guns of Navarone” here. Services at the beach include sun beds, umbrellas and a restaurant. The picturesque beach is very popular and tends to get crowded in the summer months, especially in July and August. It is ideal for those who love scuba diving.

      10 minutes here

    6. Faliraki Beach

The 4 kilometres long sandy beach in Faliraki is definitely one of the most popular beaches in Rhodes. Services include sun beds, umbrellas, showers and public toilets. Here you can find anything you can possibly ask for – water sports, cafeterias, night clubs, restaurants, bungee-jumping, places for shopping and more.

      5 minutes here

    7. Kallithea

Agia Marina beach is located on the 2nd km of Rodou- Kallithea Avenue. As you go down the stairs you will be amazed by the idyllic landscape, the view of the small bay with the sandy beach, where the Santa Marina is located. Small rocks rising in the sea are completing the natural beauty of the landscape. Santa Marina is the place where you will find what you are searching for, relaxation. Boho decoration, wood, bamboo and relaxing sunbeds give you the sense of a simplicity and luxury combination. This place makes you feel like you are somewhere…exotic.

    Private beach tour

We had a great time. Our driver Anastasios was great and took us all around to the best places. Such beautiful views and beaches. Slightly disappointing I thought we would have a reserved space on the beach. Instead we were dropped off at a public beach where either we paid could pay for beach chairs. Instead we went to a restaurant that served drinks and chairs were free. Overall a great day

Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your kind words and for sharing your experience! We’re so glad you had a great day exploring Rhodes with Anastasios and enjoyed the beautiful views and beaches. Regarding the beach stop, our tours include free time at one of the island’s lovely public beaches where guests can choose between renting sunbeds or enjoying a spot at a seaside restaurant or café. We truly appreciate your feedback, as it helps us make sure all details are always clear. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we hope to welcome you again on your next visit to Rhodes!

Beauty of Rhodes beaches and Lindos

Anastasios was amazing he started us with water and a local energy bar snack then off to Anthony Quinn beach and Lindos. He was so accommodating for our needs and we saw everything we wanted. He sent us back to the old city to a great spot Taverna and we had a traditional Gyro lunch and wine. Very fun, we highly recommend his company! Clean and air conditioned van as well!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a great time with Anastasios and enjoyed the beaches, the local snacks, and your lunch in the Old Town. Your kind words mean a lot to us, we always aim to offer comfortable, personalized experiences. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again in Rhodes!

The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rhodes.

How much does The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion cost?

    +

Prices start at $295 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rhodes usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rhodes is not rushed.

Is The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rhodes, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion?

    +

Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rhodes can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rhodes and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does The Best of Rhodes - Private Beach Excursion start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rhodes within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rhodes?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rhodes experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Makarounas Fishing Boat Trip with swimming stop and BBQ on board, Athens cruise: Agistri, Moni/Metopi, Aegina with lunch & drinks, Rhodes Sea Kayaking Tour – The Pirates Route. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rhodes?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rhodes?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
