Magical day full of emotions
It was absolutely a beautiful day! Khabir and Abdullah were very caring, kind and very good company! We discovered 2 very beautiful villages, thanks to khabir and always with a smile! then road trip in the desert with impeccable driving! We enjoyed a Chai at sunset! Just magical! Then evening in a traditional dance camp, where we love being the only tourists, very local! Thanks for all that! That was great! We highly recommend!

Pleasant afternoon and evening
Good organization that allows to visit three squares in the desert before reaching the place of the festivities. Very helpful and attentive driver, speaking English. The show lasts more than an hour and the buffet is fine. The sunset is not exceptional but it remains a good value for money.

Safari sunset and dinner show very well
Great experience for an afternoon and evening in the desert. Sunset in the dunes and dinner show. Proper food and folk show. The sifu welcome is perfect and our Kabyr driver were excellent and very nice.

Not worth the price - lack of care from organiser
For $49 / £38 per person, the experience was lacking. The description implied so much more - there was no debrief or review of itinerary at the start. In fact we never met anyone from the organising team at all. We only had a driver accompanying us (who was nice). There was no jeep transportation despite the description. There was no mention in itinerary that we would be in fact taken to Khuri, Pal Rajah resort (you can book directly with them, they’re nice). There was no bonfire either. Really disappointing experience overall and complete lack of care from the organiser despite spending a fortune when I was looking forward to the desert experience the most in Jaisalmer.
Response from the operator: Dear Madam, Namaste 🙏. We respect your opinion and really appreciate that you said our Jeep driver is nice and our Desert Camp Pal Rajah Resort is nice. What else is bad then???? Further Madam please note that we do not work alone, it's totally cumulative work. We need driver, camels and a genuine camp and staff too. Although we offer various camel safari itineraries and camp stay and activities are also part of our work. Also please note from Vaitor where you booked and till a camel man everyone has their profit in our work, so prices or costing decide after giving part to everyone. Also it came into our notice that you already booked your dinner somewhere but your dinner is included in the safari booked by you. It was a frustration point of you which is not our fault at all. Anyway thank you for sharing your feedback and we tried our best to satisfy you by our reply. With due respect to you and with best regards, Om Kewaliya Owner Fifu Camel Safaris Jaisalmer.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaisalmer.
How much does Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show cost?
+
Prices start at $43 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaisalmer usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show take?
+
Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jaisalmer is not rushed.
Is Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jaisalmer, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaisalmer can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaisalmer and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Thar Desert Magic – 1 Day Safari with Sunset & Culture Show start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaisalmer within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Jaisalmer?
+
On Outty we rank every Jaisalmer experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars, Adventure non touristic camel safari, Overnight Desert Safari Tour Package. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jaisalmer?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jaisalmer?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
