  2. Kuldhara Abandoned Village

Ghost stories have a very different kind of charm to lure readers with old forts, ruins of castles, deserted alleys, sinister houses, and abandoned spirits. Lying 21 Km from Jaisalmer in Rajasthan, Kuldhara village has a similar story to tell. At present Kuldhara Village is a heritage site and is maintained by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). As you enter the premises of this ancient village you can feel as if time has stood still in Kuldhara for the last 200 years. Straight dusty roads with intermittent rows of mud houses, cul-de-sac lanes, sandstone walls, and a temple once visited by the Paliwals stand as a living testimony of some sad past. To the east of the village lies the parched river bed of Kakni which is a warning of the impossibility of sustenance of life in this place.

Unforgettable Desert Night Under the Stars

Our overnight desert safari was an amazing experience from start to finish. It began with an exciting jeep ride through the dunes, followed by a surprisingly long and atmospheric camel ride deep into the desert to a truly remote camp. The setting was beautifully simple and authentic — a small group, dinner prepared over the fire, and a peaceful desert atmosphere far away from crowds. Sleeping in real beds under the open sky, surrounded by silence and stars, was something truly special. Our caravan guide, Puna, was excellent — friendly, attentive, and clearly experienced. As an extra highlight, the camels spent the night close to our camp, which made the whole experience feel even more unique and memorable. An unforgettable desert adventure. Highly recommended.

Silence, starry, vast skies and camels!

Pleasant Haveli Camel Safari overnight tour was a lovely experience. We ended up with just another couple who left after dinner, leaving just the two of us (as well as the lovely camel guide and our camels) comfortably set up with clean sheets, pillows and blankets in the stillness and silence of desert, under the vast sky fill with a half moon sprinkled with glittering stars. This tour is reasonably priced, well organised and very simple and natural in its appeal; just the way we prefer it to be! We highly recommend.

Amazing night in desert with camels

My adult son and I had a delightful overnight safari with our wonderful guide Ukke. Experience was as described in ad and also other reviews. Food was simple but delicious and plentiful. We preordered some beer to have watching the sun set and the stars. Camel driver (and young nephew 10-12yo) was a man of few words but very helpful. All in all it lived up to our hopes … if you’re thinking about it just do it!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaisalmer.

How much does Pleasant Non-Touristic Overnight Camel Safari (From 2:00 PM to Approx. 10:30AM) cost?

+

Prices start at $35 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaisalmer usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Pleasant Non-Touristic Overnight Camel Safari (From 2:00 PM to Approx. 10:30AM) take?

+

Is Pleasant Non-Touristic Overnight Camel Safari (From 2:00 PM to Approx. 10:30AM) worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 92 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 162 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Jaisalmer, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Pleasant Non-Touristic Overnight Camel Safari (From 2:00 PM to Approx. 10:30AM)?

+

On Outty we rank every Jaisalmer experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars, Adventure non touristic camel safari, Non-Touristic overnight Camel Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Jaisalmer?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Jaisalmer?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
