Non-Tourstic Safari Camp
I had one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I never thought I’d get the chance to sleep in the desert under the open sky—it was truly unforgettable. The Trotters staff were wonderful; they shared their stories and experiences, which made the journey even more special. Bhati Sahab was incredibly humble and modest, personally taking us around and explaining every sightseeing spot. An experience I’ll always remember.

A MUST DO LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE!
Our desert safari in Jaisalmer was, without a doubt, one of the most incredible experiences we had in India. It was authentic, unforgettable, and truly felt like we were experiencing something special rather than simply taking a tourist trip. From the moment we were picked up, everything was handled with incredible care. The transportation, the camel rides, the campfire, the sleeping accommodations, the meals—every detail was thoughtfully organized and exceptionally well done. Everything was spotless and incredibly clean, which made the entire experience even more impressive. What was also very unexpected and great was that we made a few stops to some of the more sacred grounds on the way to the desert. So we were able to really get seeped into the culture of the entire area as well. But what made this safari truly extraordinary were the people. Our guides—Goman, Jagan, Piru, Chutra, and Whasu—were absolutely unbelievable. Their warmth, hospitality, humor, and genuine kindness made the experience unforgettable. They took such incredible care of us that it genuinely felt like we had become part of their family. And that feeling extended to everyone else on the safari. There was such a wonderful sense of community and camaraderie that it never felt like we were simply a group of tourists on an excursion. And of course, we have to mention the camels. Connor, Johnny Walker, Chhagen, and Ali Baba became part of the experience too. The camel rides through the desert were incredible, and having names for each of them somehow made the whole adventure even more memorable. The food was absolutely delicious, especially considering that we were out in the middle of the desert. Every meal was prepared with so much care, and both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. Sitting around the campfire, listening to our guides sing traditional songs, surrounded by the desert and the stars, was one of those moments that you know you will remember forever. Fyi Mr. Joe is a renaissance man. The guy cooks, sings, and guided us on the camels!!! The entire experience was also incredibly safe. Not once did my partner or I feel unsafe, and neither did any of the other people traveling with us. Everything was handled professionally and thoughtfully from beginning to end. And then there is the value. For everything that was included and the quality of the experience we received, this was an insanely good value. The amount of care, hospitality, food, transportation, camel rides, accommodations, entertainment, and overall service that went into the experience was remarkable. It honestly felt like we received a five star experience at a fraction of what you would expect to pay for something of this quality. If you’re visiting India, make this a priority. And honestly, even if India isn’t currently on your travel list, I would tell you to go to India and make this trip part of your itinerary. The desert, the people, the hospitality, the food, the music, the camel rides, the campfire, and sleeping under the desert sky all came together to create something truly magical. A huge thank you to Goman, Jagan, Piru, Chutra, and Whasu for making this experience so special—and to Connor, Johnny Walker, Chhagen, and Ali Baba for carrying us through the desert. This wasn’t just a safari. It was an experience we will remember for the rest of our lives. Absolutely five stars, an incredible value, and highly, highly recommended.

Camel safari overnight with view of the milky way
Hello! It was an incredible experience! We took of from Jaisalmer, and went by Jeep first to visit a natural water source surrounded by stepp-like desert, and later visited an old castle with a nice view over the landscape. The camels were already waiting when we arrived and were very calm, and guided by a nice Indian, who shared with us his experience of living in the desert (English). By the evening, we arrived in the sand dunes and had a walk through the sand while watching the sunset. After a good dinner, we talked a bit with everyone (one other tourist and the Indian guide), and watched the stars for many hours, we could clearly see the Milky Way. Thank you so much for this experience, best greetings, Sonja

Why this scores 85
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jaisalmer.
How much does Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars cost?
+
Prices start at $3500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jaisalmer usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars take?
+
Plan for about 20 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jaisalmer is not rushed.
Is Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 408 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Jaisalmer, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 20-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars?
+
Around 143 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jaisalmer can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jaisalmer and add a light layer if any part of the 20-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Overnight Camel Safari - Sleeping under the Stars start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jaisalmer within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Jaisalmer?
+
On Outty we rank every Jaisalmer experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Adventure non touristic camel safari, Non-Touristic overnight Camel Safari, Private Heritage Walking Tour in Jaisalmer Fort and Old Bazaar. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jaisalmer?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jaisalmer?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
