Nice fun day
It’s was a nice half day trip Kelly was nice the only thing I didn’t like was as we were being picked up I was informed of a $15 per person tax that I wasn’t aware of not a deal breaker but it made me feel I was being taken advantage of
Response from the operator: Dear Walter, Thank you for sharing your experience with our Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya. We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the half-day trip and appreciated Kelly's service. We'd like to address your concern regarding the $15 per person tax that was mentioned on the tour page and on the pick up confirmation. We apologize for any surprise this may have caused and want to clarify that this fee is prominently disclosed on the tour page. We understand that unexpected charges can be unsettling, and we appreciate your understanding. The $15 per person tax is a government-mandated fee, collected in cash at the beginning of the tour, aimed at maintaining the natural reserves in good condition for all visitors. Your support contributes directly to the conservation efforts that allow us to continue offering memorable experiences in these stunning locations. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope this clarification provides a better understanding of the purpose behind the fee. We value your feedback and look forward to the opportunity of hosting you on another adventure in the future. Best regards,

A Wonderful Adventure!
A full hour of swimming with Turtles. Very friendly staff. Clean, cool, and comfortable transportation. Excellent instruction for first-timers. Arrival before the crowds was super.

Great trip with a great guide!
Great tour from a reputable company and friendly guide (Natalia). The turtle experience was amazing - we had 45 minutes in the water and it was not too crowded due to the early start. We saw turtles, stingray and starfish. The Cenetone was also a great experience, it was in a cave so different from the others on offer in the area. However, drinks and snacks not as described. Just water and some low quality mini pizzas. Not the soft drinks and empanadas described in the advert.

Terrible
If I could give a negative rating I would! Will never book with Wisest Travel again. They put us on the wrong bus to the wrong location even after I showed the guide my confirmation (and she took a picture of it!) which clearly said we were going to swim with turtles. We were half way to Holbox before she even spoke the the group about the trip and then had to turn around to bring us back. Spent 3 hours in 3 different buses. What a total waste of our day. Please people verbally confirm with your drivers and tour guides exactly where you are going even if they look at your paperwork.
Response from the operator: Dear Rachel, We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate experience you had during your recent booking with Wisest Travel. We understand your frustration and disappointment, and we deeply regret the inconvenience caused. Firstly, we want to acknowledge that the mix-up regarding the bus and the destination is entirely our responsibility, and we take full responsibility for this oversight. We understand that this resulted in wasted time and a less than ideal experience for you and your group. It is truly regrettable that our guide failed to properly communicate with the group and confirm the itinerary before the journey began. We understand the importance of clear and accurate communication, especially when it comes to ensuring a seamless and enjoyable travel experience. Rest assured, we will be addressing this issue with our guide to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future. We want to assure you that we have taken your feedback seriously, and we are committed to making the necessary improvements to prevent such incidents from happening again. We value your business and the trust you placed in us, and we apologize for falling short of your expectations. In light of this experience, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies and we already proceed with the full refund for the inconvenience you faced. Once again, we deeply regret the disappointment you experienced, and we hope you will consider giving us another chance in the future. We would love the opportunity to provide you with a memorable and seamless travel experience that meets and exceeds your expectations. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we appreciate your understanding. Best regards,

Great adventure!
I booked this excursion for 8 people. The shuttle arrived on time and Angie and Nester were incredible guides! We drove a short way to Akumal where we geared up and swam in clear beautiful waters. We saw so much wild life! Sting rays, a wide array of fish, and of course...TURTLES!. There were probably 7 turtles that swam close enough for this to be an experience of a life time for my family. The snorkeling was a little tough on our older members (60's) but the kids all did well! The cenote was the most magical experience. The cool waters of a partially covered cave were refreshing and it was super fun to explore! If you sit still enough the fish in the cenotes will give you a free pedicure! They provided a small snack inbetween snorkeling and the cenote. It wasn't fancy but it was delicious! Last but not least, Angie was an amazing tour guide! She was knowledgeable and shared all kinds of interesting facts about the flora, fauna, and wildlife! 10 out of 10 would recommend this tour to anyone and we will definitely be booking again.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Snorkeling with Turtles and Cenote Tour from Riviera Maya start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
