We invite you to experience dining by candlelight and fairy lights in an intimate, magical, natural, jungle setting. Imagine being walking down the jungle path to your beautifully set table, where you can enjoy your dinner, and intimate conversation. We are a small venue with only 5-6 tables, almost everything from scratch in house. Indulge in a freshly prepared meal, tucked away from the touristy restaurants. There is a small pond so sometimes the frogs sing, and the crickets chirp. At night you can see the stars and it is not uncommon to see the flash of a firefly. On rare occasions, guests have heard a jaguar in the distance. The venue is located in a gated community with security at the entrance. In case of inclement weather, we reserve the right to serve on the terrace etc. Your table is private, but the venue is shared, as we have 5-6 tables.

Great, Unique Dining Experience
My party of friends and I had such a wonderful experience at Josephine's. The food, service and especially the ambiance were all outstanding. It all started with a short, winding, sparkily lit, walkway through the jungle from parking lot to restaurant entrance where we were warmly greeted by owner Heather and seated by waiter William. From there we enjoyed 3 courses of starters, entrées and desserts each of our own choosing plus cocktails, wine and lemonade. Chef Max prepared our entrées to perfection and were served by Will with friendly, efficient professionalism. Josephine's is truly a gem of the jungle. BTW, I found out that owner Heather can arrange roundtrip taxi transportation for diners!

Excellent food in a surprising setting.
Josephine's exceeded our expectations tenfold. We were renting a villa in the vicinity and the owner suggested we try the nearby Josephine's. My wife was gung-ho to try it, but I had my doubts. When we arrived my doubts doubled, this was a tiny bistro, in the jungle, what quality of food were we going to find here? We started with appetizers, the pistachiomole and the gazpacho, both were very, very good, so I ordered the mussels, also very good. At this point we had relaxed the ambiance was relaxing, the night sounds soothing, my fears about the food had disappeared. The owner and the server came over and we talked about our recent trip while we waited on our main courses. I had the 'surf and turf" which was very good and my wife had the chicken, this was the first chicken she had ordered in two weeks that was not overcooked. Sufice to say dessert was good, the house wine was decent and to my surpise we really enjoyed and excellent meal. I would not hesitate to return.

A Unique Dining Experience in Nature
Josephine’s was a spectacular experience that exceeded expectations. Heather was absolutely fantastic! She delivered great service and food in such a magical and unique environment. It had a homey upscale feel that beats any food chain out there. Highly recommend checking out this unique experience. Just a 30 minute drive from Playa del Carmen.
