What you get

    About this experience

Abades is a local village on the east coast of the island, away from the tourist area. This makes it a quiet area, with a quiet, sandy, natural beach. Since fishing is forbidden here and there isn´t much movement at the surface, like swimmers and boat traffic, the ocean here is full of life, which you find close to shore.  Our snorkel spots are easily accessible from this beach, which we find a minute's walk away from our dive center.  If you'd like to eat or drink anything after snorkeling, you´ll find small restaurants with outside terraces and a supermarket directly on the cozy square in front of our center.  Non-snorkers will enjoy the beach.

Would love to do it again, a totally nice team. Relaxation guaranteed

We were totally thrilled. Katharina explained everything to us calmly. For us, it was the first experience with snorkeling. We swam surprisingly far out. Would love to do it again.

Response from the operator: Vielen lieben Dank für eure lieben Worte. Es freut uns sehr, dass es euch bei uns gefallen hat. Wir hoffen euch bald mal wieder bei uns begrüssen zu dürfen. Sonnige Grüsse vom gesamten Team

Fun, relax and no stress about time

We had a very relaxing and fun time snorkeling with Cindy. She picked us up with a smile on her face and was very enjoyable the entire time. After the hour snorkeling tour with Cindy showing us around we had plenty of time to have a meal and rehydrate before going back into the sea. Included was to use the gear again and go snorkeling by ourselves which we really enjoyed. Thanks again! Highly recommend <3

Response from the operator: Thank you so very much for your kind words. It wasn´t too hard to have a smile on my face the whole time :) The fact that you , and especially your little girl , were so entusiastic , that´s exactly why we do what we do :) Up to her first dive next time!! A very merry Christmas to you and your family

    Snorkeling charms whole family

We went snorkeling for the first time and it was great. Very friendly, accommodating, you were not just a customer. We were able to admire turtles, octopuses and many other water creatures. Many thanks for this beautiful experience.

Response from the operator: Vielen lieben Dank für eure Worte.

    This is an awesome...

This is an awesome experience! The bay in Abades is full of life and you get to see a lot of different species. If you are lucky as my group was, you even get to see a turtle! The Zeus Dive Center can pick you up, or (if you stay in Puerto de la Cruz like I did), you can drive yourself. There is a little office in the back of the square (Google maps isn’t very clear, but if you walk around the square you will find it next to the cafe). There you will do registration and getting the gear. The people are very friendly (and they even have a dutch guide, which was very cool for me coming from the Netherlands). After you are all set, a guide will snorkel with you for an hour and then you can decide to snorkel longer by yourself. I highly recommend this, as you can snorkel and see marine life for hours like that. All in all a very nice experience, away from mass tourism on Tenerife, so I’d highly recommend it!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Anna for your review. Abades is definitely worth a visit, and we are always happy to show our guests our wonderful bay and all its inhabitants :-). We are delighted that you enjoyed your time here with us and hope to welcome you back soon. Best regards from the Team Zeus Dive Center Tenerife

    Amazing snorkeling experience

The area is really chill and does not feel touristic. The guides are very friendly and helpful. We had a small group of only four people. The timing is relaxed, so avoid planning this activity on a busy day. The equipment is excellent, and the wetsuits are great. I was worried it would be cold in the water, but I didn’t feel cold at all. The sea life exceeded my expectations, with many fascinating things to see. I can definitely recommend this experience. I was lucky enough to see a turtle, and our guide even swam down to capture a close-up view. I highly recommend it!

Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.

How much does Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide cost?

    +

Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.

Is Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Small Group Snorkeling in Abades Bay with Licensed Guide start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tenerife?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tenerife?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tenerife?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
