The instructor was not very attentive. Still had fun but had hoped for more help from the instructor while in the water.

Brilliant surf lesson and a wonderful first experience
Our son Kabeer had a surf lesson with Tenerife Surf Point in October 2025, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. The instructor was highly professional, patient, and clearly very experienced. He took the time to explain everything properly, ensuring safety while keeping the session fun and engaging. Kabeer felt confident in the water and came out of the lesson smiling and excited. The overall experience was smooth, well organised, and enjoyable from start to finish. We also have some lovely photos from the session that capture just how much he enjoyed it. If you’re in Tenerife and considering a surf lesson - especially for children - Tenerife Surf Point is absolutely worth recommending.

Good experience for first-timers
Good experience for first-timer! The instructions before going in the water were simple and easy to understand. Instructors helped us in the water and made sure that we were ok at all times. You could try to catch the wave yourself or the instructor helped you by pushing you with the wave. At some point there were many students from other schools also in the water and it became a bit crowded. It would be good if each school had their own "section" to surf at.

Fun first lesson
Kris was super helpful and supportive. There was barely any waves though so it was quite hard to learn that day. It was a good first lesson though!

Rude instructor, but friendly reception. Not recommended for beginners.
The lady at reception is very kind and helpful. They responded quickly to my messages on TripAdvisor. However, the instructor assigned to us was rude. He put people on the spot by making fun of their mistakes. Most of the group were there to try surfing for the first time. His attitude was not supportive at all. He barely explained anything about being in the ocean. Nothing about how to look for waves or get started in the water. When we went to the ocean, he barely gave any tips. When the time was over, he asked everyone to get out but he stayed there for a while surfing by himself. It felt like he was only there to do some surfing rather than giving instructions.

Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tenerife.
How much does Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife cost?
+
Prices start at $37 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tenerife usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tenerife is not rushed.
Is Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 1,075 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Tenerife, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife?
+
Around 376 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tenerife can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tenerife and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Group Surfing Lesson at Playa de las Américas, Tenerife start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tenerife within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tenerife?
+
On Outty we rank every Tenerife experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale watching & listening Eco-Catamaran Tour with Snacks &Drinks, 3-hour Whale and Dolphin Watching and Listening Tour, Teide National Park Sunset & Stargazing Coach Tour - Hotel Pickup. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tenerife?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tenerife?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
