Ten days in Spain and, hands down, Ivan’s sailing on the Valencia Coast was my favorite activity! A little background…I scheduled the excursion late in the day the day prior to the tour I wanted. Viator auto corrected for the following date, which I could not accommodate. I contacted Ivan and he fixed my mistake without problem or complaint – thank you! So, we got to go sailing on the day I wanted! 😊 Getting to the marina was no problem, but getting to the boat slip could have been. No worries - Ivan dropped a location link, sent a video of exactly where to go, and provided the name of a taxi driver familiar with the location. We got there so easily! Ivan was waiting on us and indulged us with picture taking. He helped us onto his boat and it is gorgeous! Very nice accommodations. There is seating in the rear and a lovely place to lay out and get some sun in the front. Ivan lowered the top for the ultimate experience. (Be sure to take sunscreen and towels.) The boat can accommodate six guests, but there were just three of us, so plenty of room to spread out. Ivan took us to the most beautiful water I have ever seen in my life. It was almost a cobalt blue – and so clear! He gave us plenty of time to jump in and enjoy the sea. He even had some goggles on hand for us to borrow. And again, he played photographer for us while we were in the water. There is a ladder off the end of the boat, so getting in and out of the water was super easy. We sailed on to another spot where we could see the beach from afar. The water wasn’t as pretty, but still extra nice and we definitely enjoyed another jump in! Brunch/lunch was fabulous! Two people in the party are vegan and the options were plentiful for them as well as for me. So much we couldn’t eat everything, and it was all yummy! Ivan was the perfect host/captain and refreshed our beer, wine, and water as needed. Ivan gave us every minute of tour time and our same taxi driver was waiting when we returned to the dock. It was a perfect day – just can’t say enough good things about Ivan and the excursion! THANK YOU! Response from the operator: Wow, thank you so much for such a detailed and thoughtful review! 🙌 I’m really happy to know that your sailing experience was the highlight of your trip to Spain. It was truly a pleasure to help you from the very beginning, sort out the booking issue, and make sure everything went perfectly. I’m so glad you enjoyed the sea, the food, the sailing, and every moment on board the *Xanquete*. For me, it was a real pleasure to host you and share such an unforgettable day on the Valencia coast. Thanks again for your kind words, and I hope to welcome you back on board very soon!

Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.

How much does Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat cost?

    +

Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.

Is Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sail on the Valencia Coast by private boat start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valencia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
