English
Wonderful fantastic tour guide. Always pleasant and a good understanding of the area of Rome. Took us to and from the cruise port and also in a private tour of the Roman countryside where my grandparents were from . He spoke English enough to be a great translator for us. Highly recommend. Was honest and on-time for every ride!

Rome in a Day Tour
Our “Rome in a Day” tour from the Civitavecchia cruise port was an incredible experience. Although we didn’t have a guide, we were able to navigate the city on our own and still take in many of Rome’s most iconic landmarks. We started with the Colosseum and Roman Forum—standing in the heart of ancient Rome was awe-inspiring. From there, we visited the Trevi Fountain, where we tossed in coins and enjoyed the lively atmosphere. We also made our way to the Spanish Steps and admired the views and energy of the area. One of the most memorable parts of the day was visiting St. Peter’s Basilica. The scale, detail, and beauty of the church left a lasting impression. Even without a tour guide, we were able to appreciate the deep history and significance of each place we visited. Overall, the day was well spent and incredibly rewarding. Rome’s beauty, energy, and history made this a highlight of our cruise. If you're comfortable exploring on your own, this type of tour is a great way to see a lot in a short amount of time.

Expectations Exceeded
This was the best shore excursion, ever, during our two-week Mediterranean cruise because of our phenomenal driver, Emanuele Colella. Initially, we had modest expectations for a driver who would also serve as a tour guide. However, Emanuele exceeded all our expectations with his remarkable knowledge of ancient and modern Rome. His expertise allowed us to gain profound insights into the city's rich history and culture. Furthermore, he skillfully navigated the streets of Rome, enabling us to maximize the number of sites we visited and the time we had to explore them. Then, to top it off, when we asked him to take us to a restaurant that epitomizes Roman cuisine Emanuele came through, again. Sitting at a table together with Emanuele, enjoying great food and engaging in good conversation served as a perfect conclusion to our day in Rome. When you also factor in the cost/value and the convenience of a personal driver to and from the port, this excursion is not to be missed when your time is limited in Rome. Thank you, Emanuele, for making our experience in Rome truly unforgettable. Regarding attached photo: Emanuele is in the top center wearing sunglasses.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m truly delighted that you had such a memorable experience during your excursion in Rome. It was a pleasure to guide you through the city and share its rich history and culture with you. I’m glad I could exceed your expectations and help you make the most of your time in Rome. Sharing a meal together at a restaurant that embodies Roman cuisine was a perfect way to end the day, and I’m happy you enjoyed it as much as I did. I hope to welcome you back soon for more adventures in Italy!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.
How much does Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia cost?
+
Prices start at $472 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Bracciano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Bracciano is not rushed.
Is Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rome in one day: tour from the cruise port Civitavecchia start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Bracciano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
