Rome, Italy
We had an absolutely wonderful excursion from our cruise ship to Rome! Everything was organized perfectly from start to finish. Our tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate about sharing the history and beauty of Rome. They made every stop come alive with fascinating stories and interesting facts. Our driver was equally outstanding—professional, courteous, and navigated the busy streets with ease, allowing us to relax and enjoy the day. Visiting Vatican City and the Colosseum was truly unforgettable. Seeing these iconic landmarks in person exceeded all our expectations. One of the most delightful surprises was lunch at a cozy local restaurant. The food was authentic and delicious, and it was such a charming place to relax and experience genuine Italian hospitality. It was the perfect break in an amazing day. This excursion was the highlight of our cruise. We felt well cared for, never rushed, and were able to experience the very best of Rome in one memorable day. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Rome by cruise ship. Thank you to our wonderful guide and driver for making our visit so special!
Response from the operator: Thanks for your kind words!

Private tour of Rome from Civitavechia
Six of us booked a private tour through Rome Private Excursions. Jonathan was wonderful to work with in planning our tour & answered each & every email promptly. Our guide was Max & we loved him. He was a walking encyclopedia about Roman history. And he & my husband we’re happy to realize they both attended Oklahoma University...Boomer Sooner!! If you want a wonderful day filled with history & seeing a few off the beaten path sights as well, then request Max. (Max is in the light blue shirt in the middle)

Rome highlights in a day
We booked to see the Colosseum, Forum, Pantheon, Vatican, St. Peter's Bascillica, and other sites. Aviator should have indicated that it would be too much for the port time available. The guide had to rush us through everything. Entrance tickets are too expensive to not be able to enjoy the attractions fully. I guess it was reasonable for first time visitors to get a taste of what Rome has to offer. Port is just too far to get everything in. Massimo was good but sometimes took tangents trying to be humorous.

Why this scores 46
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.
How much does Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port cost?
+
Prices start at $336 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Bracciano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Bracciano is not rushed.
Is Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable outdoors in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Rome Private Excursion From Civitavecchia Cruise Port start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Bracciano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
