Fantastic tour of Civitavecchia
We booked a family experience with Paola for our group of five, ranging in age from 18 to 80, and had a truly wonderful time. Paola was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating, making sure everyone in our family felt comfortable and engaged throughout the trip. She gave us a fantastic overview of Civitavecchia and took us to some great local food stops along the way. Everything was interesting, informative, and very well organized. Paola’s knowledge and enthusiasm really made the experience special, and she was happy to answer all of our questions and share helpful recommendations. She was also incredibly helpful beyond the tour itself, assisting us with arranging a future transfer with the same company, which gave us great peace of mind. We would highly recommend Paola to anyone visiting Civitavecchia, especially families with different ages and interests. She made our day enjoyable, easy, and memorable!

Story of Citivavecchia
This was a great experience, our 2 1/2hrs with Ilaria was very informative and she was very passionate about her home town. It was a very hot day and Ilaria was very accommodating and thoughtful towards us and ensuring we enjoyed our time with her. We think this was money well spent to learn the fascinating story behind the port town of Citivavecchia.

Great option if you’ve already seen Rome
This tour was a superb alternative for someone on a cruise ship who did not want to go to Rome. I now have seen another city in Italy, and that is always my goal. Roberta was excellent and quite knowledgeable when it came to the history of the area. I had no idea there would be so much food. It was so fun—especially the stop at the arrancini spot where little Sebastian helped serve. For all the I was robbed in Rome stories, I can say my phone slipped out of my bag, and a man chased me down the street to return it.

Disappointing Experience – More History Than Food & Culture
This tour should have been described as a history tour rather than a food and culture experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable and friendly, but the actual tour did not match the description. We expected to learn more about the food, culture, and character of the city. Instead, the tour focused heavily on history. We were also told that we would have an opportunity to try authentic Italian pizza, but no pizza was provided at all. If we had known the tour would be primarily focused on history, we would not have booked it. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with the experience and felt the tour description was misleading.

Why this scores 90
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Lake Bracciano.
How much does Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia cost?
+
Prices start at $81 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Lake Bracciano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Lake Bracciano is not rushed.
Is Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 306 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Lake Bracciano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.
Can I cancel or reschedule Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia?
+
Around 107 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Lake Bracciano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Lake Bracciano and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Food Tasty and History Tour in Civitavecchia start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Lake Bracciano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Lake Bracciano?
+
On Outty we rank every Lake Bracciano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Civitavecchia Shore Excursion: Best of Rome Private Tour, VIP Tour of Rome (3/5/8hrs) Colosseum & Vatican Museums, Trasferimento dal porto di Civitavecchia A Roma. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Lake Bracciano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Lake Bracciano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
