It's a morning trip to the Utiel-Requena wine region. Your guide is a sommelier specialised in Valencian wines, who will tell you about the history of wine, about the grape varieties, and a lot more! At 9:30 you will be picked up; we’ll first go to the picturesque village of Requena, where we’ll visit some 9th century caves that were used for storing grain, oil and wine - the old clay pots are still there. We’ll do a first wine tasting there... From here we go to a winery near Utiel; we’ll go into the vineyards and through the winery, and end with a wine tasting of some of their wines. After the wine tasting we go back to Valencia, where we should arrive at around 14:00. This tour can be made wheelchair accessible - only on request, and in advance! Amazing winery tour in Utiel-Requena!!

My wife and I had an amazing tour of wineries in Utiel-Requena with Johan, who provided door-to-door service from our hotel in Valencia. We started with a walking tour of La Villa de Requena (the Medieval Old Town of Requena), followed by a visit to Bodega Honda in the heart of La Villa. Our next stop was a fun tasting at Bodega Chozas Carrascal followed by lunch (and more wine of course) at Bodega Vera de Estenas. Johan, who is a sommelier, was incredibly knowledgeable about Utiel-Requena wines and provided very informative explanations of all the wines we drank, as well as the wine-making process. If you want to do a winery tour near Valencia, we highly recommend doing it with Johan!

Response from the operator: Thanks for your kind review, Thomas! It was a fun day, and with a lot of good wine.... (I didn't drink, of course!) Always good to hear that people enjoyed the tour; thanks! For next time, there are plenty more good and interesting wineries in Valencia!

    Highlight of our trip

We had a great time with Johan! It was truly a highlight of the trip. My friends and I enjoy drinking wine, but don't know much about it. Johan was knowledgable without being intimidating and had a very good sense of humor about our lack of knowledge. He taught us a lot about the wines but also about the history of the vineyards/towns we visited. We'd do this again in a heart beat.

Response from the operator: Thanks, Murphy, for your kind review. I'm glad you realised that you don't have to know anything about wine to be able to enjoy wine or to sign up for my wine tours... All the best!

Wonderful side trip experience for the non-experts!

This was a great experience for our family of 3 young adult sons. None of us are wine experts but we learned so much from our guide, Johan. He covered the basics of wine tasting, he shared his immense knowledge of wine making, and we enjoyed 8 tastings from 2 different wineries. It was a wonderful experience, and we found the history of winemaking in the Requena region fascinating! Again, Johan was fantastic!

Response from the operator: Thanks for your nice review, Kyle. It's always a pleasure to have young people on a wine tour, and try to make them taste, drink and like wine, and I'm glad I was quite successful that day! Keep tasting...!

    Requena Wine Tour 🍷

A wonderful experience for myself and wife meeting, and learning from the our sommelier Johan, as he described the history of València and the Requena wine region.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your review, Mark! I always try to sneak in some interesting historical information, besides of course providing really good wines and a beautiful countryside with great views of the vineyards...

    Fabulous day out.

We really enjoyed our private wine tour with Johan. His vast knowledge of local wines was exceptional and we learned a great deal. Would highly recommend. A must for any wine lover.

Response from the operator: Thanks for your review, Suzanne. Great that you enjoyed the tour, that is the most important thing!

Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour): questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.

How much does Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour) cost?

    +

Prices start at $123 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour) take?

    +

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.

Is Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour) worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour)?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour) suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour)?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Private Wineries Tour from Valencia (morning tour) start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Valencia?

    +

On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Valencia?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Valencia?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
