An incredible family experience!
Alexis and Edgar took us out into the preserve. They were very careful to teach us how we can best respect this incredibly beautiful location. We were a big family (5 Kids 4 - 12) and they were very careful to make sure we were comfortable and swimming well, with diving rings for the ones who got tired. We learned to look for turtle signs and then got to see 4-6 of the big ones, mostly with remoras (sucker fish) attached to their shells. We also saw some stingrays before heading out to the coral reefs. Gorgeous reefs with sea fans, tubes, copious fish, and color. I've been to many places both snorkeling and scuba and this is an instant favorite. WORTH EVERY PENNY!
Response from the operator: We love to hear that, hope you come back soon!!

Excellent, unparalleled tour guides
This snorkeling trip is a must do!!! Our tour guides, Fernando and Christain, made the trip especially amusing with an amazing chemistry, excellent humor, and exceptional personalities. In addition, the wildlife was incredible. We were able to spot and watch at least 6 turtles in addition to stingrays, incredibly bountiful fish, and even Brazilian long-nosed bats! Be aware that the last two excursions on this trip, the Akumal and the cenote, require you to wear a life jacket, and you will not actually snorkel in the cenote; however it is certainly one of the best parts. I cannot stress how worth it this tour was to me, in addition to it's superiority over the other snorkeling tours available in the area.

Is Private Tour: Akumal Marine Turtle Snorkeling from Cozumel worth it?
+

How far in advance should I book Private Tour: Akumal Marine Turtle Snorkeling from Cozumel?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chichen Itza from Cancun : Cenote, Valladolid and Mayan Cuisine, Chichén Itzá, Cenote and Valladolid with Lunch and transportation, From Playa del Carmen ATV Adventure with Ziplines, Cenote. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
