Beautiful and breathtaking
Eugene was fantastic and made the day a wonderful experience for our group. He got us close to items of interest, was extremely knowledgeable about the area, plants and wildlife and the history of the area. Our trip was 2 days after the storm Lala occurred and yet we were still able to see and do almost everything we wanted. The area was without power in some areas but the sites were beautiful and breathtaking. A small group experience is definitely the way to see the road to Hana!
Response from the operator: Aloha Barbara! Thank you so much for the positive feedback! I am glad your crew enjoyed the day out- Hurricane Lala definitely added some wrinkles to the day. In the end it was a memorable day out and the stoke level stayed high! Mahalo nui loa, Eugene

Best way to do the Road to Hana
Nick was a super friendly and very knowledgeable guide. We hit the popular spots including a spot to swim in a waterfall pool. We visited a red sand beach and a lava tube. We had a snack stop for warm banana bread, lunch at some food trucks in Hana, and a dessert stop for a Dole whip. He also knew where all the bathrooms were and we never seemed far from one when needed. He also interacted very well with our autistic son.
Response from the operator: Aloha Andrew! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! I saw your feedback on Google also- doubling up is a huge boost to our visibility. I am glad you had the chance to explore Hana with Nick...you couldn't ask for a better guide for the day our. I hope we have the chance to show your family the magic of Maui again in the future! Mahalo, Eugene

Response from the operator: Aloha Kathy! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review- your recommendation means a lot! Exploring the Road to Hana with someone as knowledgeable as Travis is definitely an extra special experience. Thank you for choosing to book with us, and I hope we hear from you again in the future! -Eugene

Amazing private tour!!
Amazing private tour to Hana! A must do!! We had an awesome day today with Eugene! He showed us some of the most beautiful and unique (non-tourist) spots. We will remember this trip forever!
Response from the operator: Aloha Claudia! That was a particularly memorable tour for me as well- I had a blast with Michael & yourself! Great conversation throughout the day, and the island really put on a show for us. I am glad the two of you were game to check out the backside and you enjoyed those off-the-beaten-trail spots. Exceptional Guide and Wonderful Experience
If the Road to Hana is on your list of things to do in Maui, why not sit back in a spacious and clean SUV and let Nick do the driving. The day we spent with Nick felt like sharing our trip with a very knowledgeable, fun and personal friend. Nick and Ohana tours communication before and during our trip was seamless. We saw everything on the itinerary and actually added a couple things. Nick and Eugene, the owner of Ohana Tours, are extremely helpful and willing to modify an itinerary to suit your wants and needs. This is truly a "private" tour and only includes the people in your group. Book today, you won’t be sorry!
Response from the operator: Aloha Jill! It makes my day when I get feedback this detailed & enthusiastic- thank you for taking the time to share! A few of the things you mentioned specifically are the focus of our crew. Making our guests comfortable and feeling like old friends, as well as the chance to customize each day, are both huge parts of the Ohana Tours Maui experience. Mahalo nui loa, Eugene

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.
How much does Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup cost?
+
Prices start at $400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.
Is Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 45 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup?
+
Around 16 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Maui?
+
Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, Maui: VIP Private Road to Hana Tour with Pick Up, West Maui Snorkeling Experience by Boat from Ka'anapali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
+
April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Maui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
