About this experience
We do the wine tasting on a quiet plaza in the old town of Valencia, next to the cathedral. You will taste 4 good Valencian wines: there's a choice between Cava (sparkling wine), white or red wine; we only use quality wines! The wine tasting is guided by a sommelier specialised in Valencian wines, who will show you how to 'taste' wine, tell you about the wines you're tasting, the history of wines in Valencia, and you can of course ask all those questions (about wines) you always wanted to ask... Some snacks are included in the tasting, like cheese, cecina, ham or something else. The wine tasting takes anything between 1.5 and 2 hours. If you want to customise the wine tasting (special, specific wines / wineries), contact me directly! If you are 1-2-3 people, or more than 8, contact me directly. We also do wine tastings for larger groups (up to 40 people) - contact me directly!

Great tasting experience with an expert sommelier
Our experience with Johan a sommelier who has a deep well of knowledge and a genuine passion for wine. We met at Matiz Cantina. Johan expertly guided us through a tasting of four local Valencian wines, each one personally selected by him. The wines were accompanied by a delicious plate of local meats and cheeses. Johan happily answered all of our questions, sharing his expertise in a way that was both engaging and easy to understand. We also found out that he runs wine tours, which sound fun. Thank you, Johan, for a fantastic experience!
Response from the operator: Thanks for your very nice review, Angela! It's always a pleasure to do some wine tasting... Next time a wine tour..?

Great experience
We had an amazing time with Johan during our wine tasting experience. He choosed a really nice variaty of wines, paired with the best local cheeses and ham, mixed with incredible stories. Great times! Thank you!
Response from the operator: Thanks for your review, Marius. I always try to bring very nice and interesting wines to the wine tastings - I'm glad you liked them! Next time a wine tour...?

Excellent wine tasting experience and great company
This was an informative, relaxed and very enjoyable wine tasting with an excellent selection of wines from Johan. Thanks to Johan's organisation we were able to share the tasting with another couple which meant we had a wider choice of wines for a very reasonable price. We cannot recommend Johan highly enough.
Response from the operator: Thank you, Redhead23.... We had 5 very different, interesting and surprising Valencian wines; I'm glad everyone liked (or at least, appreciated..) all of them. I look forward to seeing you on that wine tour!

Expertly organised group wine tasting!
What a fantastic afternoon you gave us Johan. Thank you for your patience with the big and chatty group. We learnt so much and discovered lovely new wines which we thoroughly enjoyed! Thank you for choosing such a beautiful venue for our tasting! The afternoon exceeded expectations. You’re a great host!
Response from the operator: Thanks for your super-review, Claire! I'm glad you all liked it, and the very different wines we tried. Next time a wine tour!

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.
How much does Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town cost?
+
Prices start at $43 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Valencia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.
Is Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 59 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town?
+
Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Private premium wine tasting with snacks in Valencia's old town start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Valencia?
+
On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Valencia?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Valencia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
