Beautiful Mountain Panoramic Views Local People Local Meals Nature Mardi Himal (5587m/18331ft), lying less than fifteen miles north of Pokhara, is the most southerly mountain of the Annapurna range. Among the four trekking peaks in Annapurna region, Mardi Himal is a five day slog up to the Mardi Khola to approach the peak. It is the lowest and perhaps the least climbed or visited of the trekking peaks in Nepal. Taking on this trek we get the sight of beautiful mountain views, sparkling rivers and lush green terraced fields. Mardi Himal trek takes us through beautiful forests, interesting villages and valleys, the cultural diversity being the main attraction of this trek. The attention of western mountaineers was first drawn to Mardi Himal by the photographs of Basil Goodfellow, taken in 1953. However, it was not until 1961 that the mountain received its first ascent. Jimmy Roberts, with two Sherpas, first climbed to the summit by a route on its west flank.

Maesi Himal trex, spectacular scenery and great guidance by Alphine Club Himalaya

Just returned from Mardi Himal trek in Nepal - an experience I'll carry with me for a long time. It was physically demanding, the weather changing from good to bad to worse with the blink of an eye but every step opened up to some of the most breathtaking views of the mountain that I have ever seen. Thankful to VJ, a close buddy who hiked with me. What stood out was the kindness and patience our Guide and Sherpa, whose care and help made the journey comfortable and hopeful, even on the toughest days. Grateful for the adventure, the people and the memories...

Good job Alpine Club of Himalayas!

Had a very good experience climbing up the Mardi Himal track. Our two guide Nima and Thasi was an excellent person with senses of humour. We like their jokes. A special thanks for Sujan (MD) and his team for making this a successful one for us.

Great experience for our first visit to Nepal

Me boyfriend and I visited Nepal for the first time this year and decided to book the Mardi Himal trek through Bookatrekking.com. We met Sujan in Kathmandu before heading on the trek and he was friendly, professional and very helpful in making sure we had all the things we needed for going on the trek. Throughout the whole trek our guide and porter were great as well, very helpful and friendly. The trek was amazing and Alpine Club sorted all accommodation and food which made it so easy. Anyone looking to do trekking in Nepal I highly recommend Sujan and his team at Alpine Club of Himalaya, professional, friendly and incredibly helpful when we had any questions about the trek. Their service was great and we even booked another trip to Chitwan with them as well, which was also fantastic. Highly recommend Alpine Club of Himalaya treks and trips to anyone visiting Nepal (booked via bookatrekking.com).

    Very professional service.

Both my girlfriend and I’s first time travelling to Nepal let alone trekking and we didn’t know quite what to expect. Thankfully Sujan the tour operator runs a very welcoming and professional service. He met us in Kathmandu answered questions we had, gave us some good advice and helped us pick up some bits and pieces we needed for the trek. All transportation and hotel bookings were taken care of and he was helpful throughout our entire trip with any other needs or questions we had. Both the guide and porter on our Mardi Himal trek were brilliant, helpful and friendly throughout. And we wouldn’t have been able to do it without them. We were so impressed with the service we also booked a 3 day trip to Chitwan after our trek. Highly recommend.

Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,299 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS take?

    +

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 288-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Mardi Himal Trek – 12 DAYS start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
