The Zoo’s biggest experience, Land of the Lions, gives you the chance to get closer than ever before to the mighty Asiatic lions. You can explore walkways covering the 2,500sqm Indian-themed exhibit. - The Zoo is more than 190 years old and contains many old buildings, 12 of which are listed. However, most of London Zoo is accessible for wheelchair users and those with walking difficulties.
- Paths are generally tarmac and there is level or ramped access to most buildings.
- Slopes leading to the two tunnels in the Zoo are quite steep.
- Six manual wheelchairs and two boosters/electronic wheelchairs are available at the Zoo entrance with no hire charge, but a security deposit is required (subject to availability). You can call to reserve one up to 2 weeks in advance.
- Please ask at the Zoo entrance or the Information Kiosk for information and a map in large print.
- Last admission is one hour before advertised closing time.
- The Zoo will close at 5pm on 7, 14, 21 and 28 June and 5, 12, 19 and 26 July 2024 for Zoo Nights. Last entry and closing time subject to change due to special events. Some animal exhibits may close up to 30 minutes before closing time.
- Both Zoos will be closed from Monday 20 to Friday 24 January 2025, and the following week from Monday 27 to Friday 31 January 2025 for annual maintenance. The Zoos will be open at the weekends.

Amazing experience
What an amazing zoo to visit! We were quite surprised at the size of the zoo with it being in London. We had previously read on trip advisor that it would take approximately 3 hours, we have spend the whole day there. We couldn’t quite believe how clean it was, both in the walkways for visitors but also within the enclosures. It really looks like the zoo provides a fantastic stimulating environment for all of the animals. We ate in the terrace restaurant and the service was very quick despite it being busy and having to queue for a short time (5 minutes). Food was reasonably priced and very tasty. There were plenty of tables to site at- but do sit upstairs! There appears to be a random pigeon that gets in and sits on the lights for the lower terrace!!!!! A brilliant day out! Highly recommend for all ages. Blue Peter badges are accepted too.

Great experience. Excellent range of animals and exhibits, entertaining for all ages. Friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable keeper team. Easily spend 3-4 hours here.

Disappointing from start to finish.
This was the first - and last - time I went London Zoo. It was a very expensive waste of time and money. There was a long queue and at no point did one of the officials recommend buying tickets on line while waiting as once past the bag check there were two entrances - one for ticket holders, and one for those who needed to buy tickets. The former was shorter and quicker. Once inside the zoo, no animals could be seen in several enclosures. In others, the animals were tucked away almost hidden. The indoor areas were a bit better but the design of the glass enclosed spaces meant that often the animals (insects, arachnids, etc) were not visible. Going down the stairs to the underground dark (nocturnal) area was a complete waste of time. We saw nothing. Completely fed up with our experience we tried to leave the easiest and quickest way. I asked an employee where the nearest exit from the zoo and he directed me to a locked gate! There is only one exit apparently (very near the entrance) but very few “exit this way” signs. Utter waste of time and money.

Family zoo visit
We did national rail 241 (parents did 241 and separate ticket for child). All enjoyed themselves. 8 year old loved horrible science show and snail experience. Quite a few water refill stations and plenty of seating areas
