St Botolph's Aldgate
The introduction takes place outside St Botolph's Church known as the Prostitutes Church because girls used to solicit on the island where it stood.

Moving round to the square beside the church. You then have a description of what life was like in the poverty stricken overcrowded of Whitechapel in 1888. The squalor, crime and degradation of the people living on the breadline.

Mitre Sq/St just inside the City boundary is the stop about Elizabeth Stride (Long Liz) the 1st victim killed by Jack on the night of the double event. Also, we will move a few yards to talk about the death of Catherine Eddowes killed only 45mins later right here!

Now called Middlesex St this is the boundary between the City of London and the Metropolitan area an important distinction as there were separate police forces for these areas.

As Gruesome and Gritty as promised and thoroughly captivating!
I attended the Jack the Ripper walking tour with my partner on 4/7/26 after booking through a Buy a Gift voucher. The booking process was easy and provided clear, easy-to-follow information about the tour and meeting point. The tour lasted just under two hours, and we were fortunate to have Angie as our Ripperologist. Angie was captivating from the start with her knowledge and genuine passion for history and Jack the Ripper, making the tour incredibly informative. She was able to piece together the events of autumn 1888 in such a way that no important detail, person, or location went without mention. Detailed photos were shown (including the gruesome ones!), which really helped us picture Whitechapel as it would have been. Angie explained at the start that, due to the starting point, the tour wouldn't be in chronological order. However, she regularly refreshed the timeline as we went along and summarised everything perfectly at the end. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in London's history. Book onto one of these tours and you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be looking at some of the company's other tours in the future.

Truly felt like we stepped back in time
Really enjoyed our evening walking tour. Jenny, our guide was clearly an expert and provided so much fascinating detail and insight not just on the murders, but also brought to life the living conditions and realities of that era. Highly recommend as an activity to do in London

Insightful and atmospheric tour
Lindsey was very knowledgeable and engaging.M and her photos really helped build a picture of London in that time. Not for young children as some of the pictures are of crime scenes and very graphic.

The best Jack the Ripper tour around
Lindsey was very knowledgeable and had some really good visuals with her iPad so you can visualize what the area looked like in 1888. She was upbeat and somewhat witty at times. She has years of experience and it shows.If you are in London and are looking to do a Jack the Ripper tour this is definitely the one you need to sign up for. You will not be disappointed!!!
