Mosquitos Island and Cenote the best

Passion Island is more on the tour. The rest of the ride is excellent. The stop in Mosquito Island is great, that transparent sea that conveys pure peace. Holbox is nice to meet, nice place

Guides are great! Not worth the all day travel time, tourist trap, pricey food and drinks, nothing spectacular to see

The trip was okay, well organized, guides were great. However Holbox is overrated and not worth the time it took to travel there. We stayed in Rivera Maya and were gone 12+ hours. Holbox - total tourist trap, nothing spectacular here to see and food and drinks on the beach are pricey. There was rain the night before and the streets were streams of what looked felt like wet concrete. We tried the lobster pizza - not too impressed. The other beach islands they take you too, toning better than what we had access to at our hotel. Would not visit here again.

Response from the operator: Hello Miss Mary, Holbox is an island which brings out its best virtues in the summer seasons. Being a virgin island, the rain can cause mud. Thank you very much in advance for your comment. We hope you can take another tour with us to another destination.

    Nice very good

Very nice island the only thing we didn't like was the quagmire in the streets, too much trash and dog feces.. The tour to 3 very nice islands and the bioluminescence tour good

Response from the operator: Hola Sr. Alberto, Nos complace saber que disfruto del tour, Holbox al ser una isla virgen en sus días lluviosos hay algo de lodo. Esperamos que pueda volver en verano para que disfrute al máximo esta increíble isla.

Well organized tour, but Holbox isn't worth the effort

The tour was very expensive, and Holbox wasn't worth the time. It was a long drive to the port and back, and Holbox was just another beach next to a muddy dirt road. I didn't see anyone bike--the road was too muddy. The cenote swim was a nice place to cool off, but it was a like a packed swimming pool with everyone there at once. The tour operator did a fine job though, no complaints.

Response from the operator: Holbox is an island from which you can get out of the conventional since it is not urbanized, the reason for the mud is due to the rains, which in the Caribbean area at this time is normal, we invite you to do another tour in your next visit, or the same one from holbox on another date and you will see that you will enjoy it more

    Your was cancelled at...

Your was cancelled at last minute. They didn’t even notify me I had to call and ask location. They stated ferry closed but we drove and was not.

Response from the operator: Hello Miss Rachel, Ferry is different that a small boat, small boats did not operate for security, for this reason of the weather we could not operate, and your tour was even reimbursed, it would have been different if they did not reimburse you at all, but thanks for your score, we hope you have enjoyed your day. Also, we receive information by calling from port, and they gave us instructions, if they open the dock is for their decision.

Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya cost?

    +

Prices start at $163 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya take?

    +

Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Holbox Tour - Pasion Island & Cenote from Riviera Maya start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
