    Terrible experience

Bought 3 Tickets for my family , This company is very unprofessional , no bus stop marking around their stops , we took the hotel zone loop halfway to find out they did not ben stop at the beach stops on their maps , no English speaking staff on buss , halfway through our route they stopped at market 28 and came to us and said we can get of the bus and go into the market and the bus will be waiting for us and leave in 30 min again followed by one of the market people speaking english to explain to us , we went into the market for 10 minutes and found that the bus has left , we had to wait wait 2 hours in the heat for the bus to stop at this stop again , we ended up taking a taxi back to our place for an extra $25 us after we paid $40 for 3 tickets , an abselute waist if money and disonest setup , theres a reason why there is almost nobody using this bus , what a pitty because all over the world in other countries we always do the hop on hop off busses as this gives you a quik idea of how the citys are and some history.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback, and we're truly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced. Due to local government regulations, we’re not allowed to mark our stops to avoid adding visual clutter to the city. We understand this can be confusing and are working on improving communication through our staff and maps. We’ll also review the situation at Market 28 with our team to prevent this from happening again.

Fun way to explore Hotel Zone

Came across this hop on hop off tour near the Ado bus terminal in downtown. The loop is from Downtown to Playa Delfines and back. It was a fun to explore the hotel zone in the open bus. The bus leaves every 2 hours from downtown.

Hop on Hop off Cancun Bus and Subsee

The experience of hop on hop off bus tour was worthwhile as an introduction to Canon . The commentary was in Spanish not English. The staff were very helpful and the Translation App on our cell helped with alot with questions. We were unable to do our booked Subsee tour on that day due to bad weather....but it was rebooked to a day that we requested with no problem. The Subsee experience was amazing and the commentary was all in English. Overall the entire experience and tour guides were very helpful and ensured we had an amazing experience. A must do when you are in Cancun.

Response from the operator: We are currently working on the English version for the Hop-on Hop-off bus tour, it will be ready soon. Thank you so much for your comment, we are glad you enjoyed your activity.

Cancun hop on hop off tourist icon tour

The bus was 40 minutes late from main bus terminal departure time. It was ALL in recorded spanis. They could put an English translation since its a recording. Had no idea about stops. I have basic spanish. I'm slow I admit. I picked up words but too quick. I can read signs so that helped. The bus driver just drove. It goes down lagoon side then return journey is on sea side. He did stop on lagoon side at playa delfines. I picked up we could get off and he would pick us up on other side in 15 minutes. That was it no other stops except to drop off a bunch of Mexican folk staying at Hyatt. I then got back to a previous location and asked to be dropped off at Mercado 28. He told that was on way out and no go. It wasn't the on off I expected. At least some translation at the beginning would have been helpful. It definitely only caters to local spanish speakers.

Response from the operator: Hello, we are sorry about the language. For the moment the activity is offered only in Spanish but we are working on the English version, it will be ready very soon. There are 9 stops and the bus arrives at each stop every 2 hours approximately depending on local traffic, it could be some minutes late. We are sorry for the delay. Thank you for leaving a comment.

Affordable experience with great customer service

I really liked this experience and found it completely worth it. Would do again when I come back. It’s such an affordable way to travel up and down the area and it was so fun sitting up top as wind rushed through my hair and I got to see the beautiful city. Though my Spanish is terrible, they did a wonderful job accommodating me and letting me know when to get off. They scheduled my Subsee experience, which itself was a blast as I got to boat across the lagoon and ocean and then see sea life and sculptures underwater. Phenomenal.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing your experience with others, we are glad that you had a good time and enjoyed your ride. We will be happy to see you again when you come back.

Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine cost?

    +

Prices start at $36 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Hop-on Hop-off City Tour Cancun and Glass-Bottom Submarine start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
