My background as a former TV correspondent gives me the confidence, charisma, and flair to bring history vividly to life. Unusual London Tour

I met James in the States on a tour of Washington. Since we had a great time with him there, we did the walking tour in London, which he organized perfectly. The day went very well and of course James is always number one. Unfortunately for technical problems our visit to the holborn metro station was changed from the london transport museum to another station (baker street) that we did not like very much. Anyway I recommend James as a guide in London to everyone

Absolutely 5 stars, love it!

Wow! My tour with James was absolutely incredible! He’s unbelievably precise with every detail and his deep knowledge of history made each landmark come alive in the most fascinating way. I left the tour feeling enriched, inspired, and genuinely amazed by how much I learned! James has that special talent for turning information into captivating stories, making the whole experience fun, engaging, and unforgettable. If you’re looking for a guide who will truly elevate your trip and make every moment count, you have to book a tour with him. Highly, highly recommended!

Wonderful!!

James what a great person, what an intelligence, what a tour guide. Known in New York, he was our guide in Boston and Washington DC. Also historically prepared and great photographer (always ready to photograph you whenever you want) having been a journalist, he explains a lot of goodies during your tour. A friendship was born between us and knowing that he lives in London we decided, for our trip there, to take us on some tours around. He was not denied. Impeccable in everything. See you soon James, a big strong kiss from Augustine, Joan and little Aurora! We love you! ❤️

A guide with soul and content!

James is a guide as few are: cult, informed, funny, performative, intelligent. It gives the historical and cultural context of the experiences it presents, is always attentive to detail and offers angles and perspectives that standard packages do not give. Our day and night in the opera provided by him were unforgettable.

A perfect day in London

What an amazing day and tour of London! James was so knowledgeable and entertaining. (Great photographer too - he took all the best photos of our trip). James had asked us a lot of questions about what we wanted to see in the city and it felt like he customized the tour for just us. We saw many of the places you may imagine are on most tourist’s lists (I have a picture on my office desk of my wife and I that he took with Westminster behind us - that makes me smile every day.) As a London local - he knew the best ways to get us to all the sights we wanted to see- but also knew so many places in between. I’m certain we would have missed many highlights of or trip - without James knowing these things were hidden right around a corner. He knew so much about the city, its architecture and history. With all this local knowledge- he still has the enthusiasm of a fellow traveler- making it feel like we were on a fun adventure together. We enjoyed the tour so much - we arranged another tour from James of the London Opera House- which was also a vacation highlight! We can’t wait until we can go back - and I’m sure a day out with James - maybe to revisit a few highlights and hopefully see some new - will be part of it. I would recommend his tours to anyone going-

Response from the operator: Guys, you make me blush! Thank you so much for your kind words!

Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $350 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Historic London Walking Tour Landmarks and Pub Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

+

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

+

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
