    What you'll see and do

    1. Tule Tree

The Tule Tree is a natural monument located in Santa Maria del Tule, Oaxaca, famous for having the widest trunk in the world, with a diameter of more than 14 meters and a circumference exceeding 58 meters. This majestic ahuehuete (Mexican cypress) is approximately 2,000 years old and capable of shading about 500 people at a time. Part of its appeal lies in the natural figures that guides help identify in their bark (such as elephants or crocodiles) and in the Zapotec legend that attributes its plantation to a priest of the god of the wind, Ehécatl.

    Personal Guide in Oaxaca

We met José by chance and without planning it we ended up with a personal guide for two days on our trip which helped us a lot in learning more about the culture of Oaxaca. He was very patient as we traveled with 3 older adults, adjusted to our pace, accompanied us and explained each place and process we saw. Thank you Jose for making our stay more pleasant and informed.

Response from the operator: ¡Hola!

How many days do you need in Oaxaca City?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
