We will visit this small market, popular with the local people of Oaxaca, to charge our body and be ready to do our hike in the mountain, in this market we will find various options for breakfast, between fresh fruit juices and seasonal fruits, as well as tamales of beans, mole, dulce or pumpkin flower, quesadillas and delicious memelitas. Fresh fruit waters or smoothies we can also find here!

Here we will do our hiking! In the forests of the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca, temperate ecosystems of great ecological importance that are home to pine and oak forests, mesophilic cloud forests. This region is famous for its unique biodiversity, high concentration of endemic species of flora and fauna, such as the multicolored hummingbird, and spectacular landscapes characterized by the presence of fog and epiphytes. Local communities have preserved these forests for centuries, and today they are a key destination for ecotourism and adventure tourism in Mexico. Guided by a local guide, we will make an easy and beautiful 3-hour hike into the most beautiful forests of Mexico, considered among the most diverse in the world with lush vegetation, gazebos and beautiful panoramic views of the Oaxaca Valley.

We will pause for lunch before returning to the city in one of the most attractive restaurants in the Sierra Norte de Oaxaca, where we can find delicious local food such as hot drinks like coffee, water chocolate or milk chocolate, yolk bread, atole and champurrados, as well as fresh fruit juices and traditional dishes like chilaquiles and memelitas or quesadillas, definitely a mandatory break after our adventure through the forest!

A very beautiful trip to the Oaxaca mountains!
A super enjoyable day hiking in a beautiful area and route - through forest and up to an amazing view! One of my favourite days in Oaxaca! Lovely small group (3 in total). Everything was well organised and smooth. There was an opportunity to buy some snacks before we set off. We didn’t end up going for the lunch at the end of the trip as we spent longer on the hike/at the viewing point, but the group were all happy with this. Daniel is a very friendly guide, with lots of local knowledge and switches between Spanish and English to accommodate the group. Highly highly recommend this peaceful and gorgeous trip!

Excellent trip
I loved this beautiful hike! A bit challenging for me @ 78, but Daniel was very patient and even provided helpful walking sticks. The group was small, so we each had time to ask questions, and I learned many Spanish words, though Daniel led the tour in perfect English. He taught us about fauna, flora and birdcalls. In case there's no time for lunch, make sure you bring hearty snacks. Well-organized, well-priced and lots of FUN. Highly recommended!

Amazing day hiking.
This was the best! Super personalized. I had a great time. Not a big production with a crowd of people. A real hike. Like you'd do at your favorite place with friends when you want to show them a place you love. Definitely recommend.
