Great family experience
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, made sure that we all felt very comfortable. Despite the varied level of biking skills, catered to all our needs. Loved the share of Hawaiian culture and vegetation.

The sunrise was...
The sunrise was beautiful. Well worth dealing with the wind and the cold. We brought layers but we still used their jackets and that helped a lot. Russel was great. I didn't expect to learn so much about the history and plant life of the mountain on our bike ride. We felt very safe during the guided tour. You had a vehicle behind the group so cars would only pass when we pulled over to stop for a quick break. Otherwise, you had the whole right side of the road to yourself.

Maui Bucket list!
This is our 2nd time - 21 years later - and the sunrise is just as magical! It’s cold at the top so come prepared and layer up - gloves and a knit hat are a good idea and easy to pack! Then throw caution to the wind and glide down Haleakala to take in the beautiful views, scents, and sights that the island has to offer. Highly recommend the guided tour. Our guide Russell was so knowledgeable and entertaining, while providing a safe environment for the duration of the ride. This is not a strenuous activity! If you can balance on a bike, you can do this tour. Plus, there’s a van that follows you down if you change your mind!

Sunrise
Ride up was great with Dan, lots of great knowledge of the areas history, plants and animals. And even at that early time of the day, a sense of humor. No sunrise though, but that is hit and miss. Bike ride was great! We enjoyed the “ crater jump” and pose with the bike photo opts, made for good memories. The ride was fast enough to pump the blood and safe enough to calm the heart rate. Rabb was fun and super safe. The food however was a train wreck…. Not only bad tasting, including uncooked meat and “rubber” potatoes, but too long to come out of the micro. I believe the tour guides recommended this restaurant, sorry to say 0 stars.

Not Satisfied!!
This experience IS NOT worth the cost!!!....This excursion did not match the advertisement! I also requested to be placed in a van with other family members and Viator would neither cancel and refund me ....but wanted to keep my money if I canceled...this made my experience miserable!!..DO NOT BOOK THROUGH VIATOR,..but call the provider directly!!!!

Why this scores 75
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.
How much does Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui cost?
+
Prices start at $318 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.
Is Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 288 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui?
+
Around 101 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Haleakala Sunrise Best Guided Bike Tour with Bike Maui start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Maui?
+
Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, Maui: VIP Private Road to Hana Tour with Pick Up, Road to Hana Adventure Maui Tour with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
+
April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Maui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
