Dreke Sunset at Haleakala with Patricia!
Excellent time with host Patricia. She made our experience a memory that will last. The sunset at Haleakalā was magnificent. We truly enjoyed our time. If it is windy you will need winter clothes. It is very cold because of the wind, but it is worth the sunset you will see on the clouds. Wow!

Best view ever
Need to wear warm clothes and bring at least 2 blankets, bring waters. There are 2 spots option to view from. You have to walk up a hill to get to the top view. If you are too cold, get into the little info house. Bring glass cleaner if you want to take picture from the inside of the “warm house”

Magical doesn’t come close to describing it!
We watched the sunset above the clouds and the experience was beyond magical. Our guide, Patricia, was amazing and I cannot recommend her enough. She is so personable and takes amazing pictures, as well! It was worth every penny to not have to drive and all of us could sit back and just enjoy every single moment. Highly highly recommend! As for sunset vs sunrise…. We loved the sunset. It doesn’t get as cold as sunrise and the color show continues all the way down the mountain even after sunset. If you are in the fence… just do it. You won’t regret it! My husband was skeptical that it would be worth it. But he was also amazed!

Best Haleakalā sunset tour!
My family of four took the private tour of Haleakalā National Park to watch the sunset. Our tour guide, Vicente, punctually picked us up at our hotel (The Four Seasons Wailea) in a jeep. He called ahead to make sure we were prepared for the change in temperature we would Encounter at the summit. He gave us a history of the island and the crater as we drove up with the jeep top open which made the experience even better. Once we reached the park, Vicente knew exactly the best spots with the best views. He is also a gifted photographer so he captured some amazing photos of our family. He even brought some Beverages and a charcuterie platter for us while we waited for the sun to set. It was a great experience and I would definitely take more excursions with his company Lani Wanderlust.

Incredible! Simply incredible!
Absolutely incredible! Vicente felt like an old friend by the end of our excursion. He brought us to an amazing spot to view the sunset away from the main parking lot and crowds. The 4 of us and 4 others in another vehicle were the only ones there. He tailored our entire experience based on our interests and requests and shared his first hand knowledge and stories about Maui. All of us felt like we touched the heavens thanks to Vicente!
Response from the operator: Aloha Chris Thank you for your kind words! We’re so glad to hear that we made your experience memorable and tailored it to your group’s interests. It’s wonderful to know you enjoyed the sunset and had such a special time. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again for another unforgettable Maui adventure! Mahalo Nui loa

Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.
How much does Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest cost?
+
Prices start at $1,950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.
Is Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Maui?
+
Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, West Maui Snorkeling Experience by Boat from Ka'anapali, Maui Eco-Raft Tour: Eye-Level Whale or Dolphin Watching - Lahaina. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Maui?
+
April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Maui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest?
+
Included: Bottled water; Snacks; Tour Guide; Charcuterie Tray; and Parking fees. Not included: Alcoholic beverages; Gratuities; and Dinner. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
What languages is Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest offered in?
+
It is offered in English and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
Is Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest wheelchair or stroller accessible?
+
The operator notes: Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller; and Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.
What happens to Haleakalā Sunset Photography Experience up to 6 Guest if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Maui. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.

Across 6 reviews averaging 5.0 out of 5, recurring themes include photo opportunities, knowledge and storytelling, the guide. The views and photo stops come up again and again.
