    Half day Road to Hana

It was a great experience, but what made it exceptional was a tour guide David Wright! He was knowledgeable, friendly, funny and an all around cool guide! Definitely worth the money spent!

Response from the operator: Aloha Marie! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review! David definitely is a valuable member of our team- I know our guests are always in good hands when he is leading a tour. He sent me a selfie he took with your group after the tour and it was easy to tell you all were having a blast! I hope we hear from you again next time you are visiting Maui. Mahalo, Eugene

Hopefully the owner does the tour as our driver was not great

So disappointed to say this tour was less than the high expectations we had. The tours stops included a roadside stop at a Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree. A visit to a friends store for banana bread. Ke'anae Peninsula, a drive by Wailua State Wayside (I think), absolutely no stop at a waterfall for a swim or any mention of Pua'a Ka'a State Wayside, a black sand beach (not the one pictured) and our last and final stop at Ho'okipa Beach Park. We asked to see Jaws Country Store but was told this wasn’t possible. Very underwhelming for the price we paid.

Response from the operator: Aloha Bridget, I am sincerely sorry to hear you did not enjoy the tour. You mentioned a few specific issues in your review that are very concerning to me- the tour was not completed as advertised or up to our standards. If you have the time, I would like to chat with you and do my best to make this right. I am guessing you were a member of the Jones party...please let me know the best way to contact you and we could coordinate a convenient time to talk. My number is (716)229-1778 and my email address is ohanatoursmaui@gmail.com I hope you give us the opportunity to make this right, -Eugene

    Nick was a great guide...

Nick was a great guide and helped us find just the right places. He told us about rainbow eucalyptus, monkey pod trees, local history - he answered all our questions. Definitely leave the driving to the locals so you can enjoy the great views!

Response from the operator: Aloha Betty! Thank you so much for the feedback! I am glad Nick was able to share his knowledge with Rick & yourself and make the trip memorable. We appreciate you two booking with us here at Ohana Tours Maui, and we hope you think of us on your next trip to Maui. Mahalo, Eugene

Hana Road....let someone else do the drive

Great trip. Eugene was working off an itinerary but he also was flexible to provide us with amazing tour. Eugene also is very knowledgeable about Maui. Just wonderful person to get to know. The sights we saw were just amazing even though it was a rainy and overcast day.

Response from the operator: Aloha Jae! Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I had a blast on the day out with Brad and yourself, and I'm glad you did not let the overcast day discourage you. I hope to hear from you the next time you are vacationing on Maui! Mahalo, Eugene

Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Maui.

How much does Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup cost?

    +

Prices start at $300 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Maui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Maui is not rushed.

Is Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Maui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Maui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Maui and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Half Day Private Road to Hana Tour with Pickup start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Maui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Maui?

    +

Maui's three signature days are the Hana road, the Haleakala summit sunrise and the Molokini snorkel sail, and all three are logistics problems as much as experiences. Sunrise summit entry is permit-controlled, Hana is a ten-hour driving day, and Molokini boats vary wildly in size. Our ranking rewards operators who handle permits and keep boat capacity low. On Outty we rank every Maui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Molokini Crater + South Maui Coast Adventure from Kihei, Maui, Maui: VIP Private Road to Hana Tour with Pick Up, Road to Hana Adventure Maui Tour with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Maui?

    +

April to May and September to October. Whale season runs December to April. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Maui?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
