Great Experience
Fun experience and a friendly guide. Definitely worth the trip!
via Tripadvisor
Great views, fresh air, cold water, and opportunity to meet new ppl.
This isn’t your walk in the park, at times it is slippery and steep, if you like that sort of thing then this is for you. My friend and I went with a group of ppl and many of us slipped and/or got injured due to being unprepared. Make sure to have hiking or grippy shoes, a flashlight (since you may go cave exploring), water, snacks (there are some shops along the way), water shoes (for rocks at thermal pool), bathing suit, and towel to dry off. The thermal pools were crowded and the water was cold which was unexpected (there were some pockets of warm water). The views were great and we meet some cool ppl too. Not sure if I’d do this again but i recommend to try this at least once!

Excellent kayaking experience and enjoyable thermal pools—with one important tip
We booked a full-day excursion from Valencia that combined kayaking with a visit to the thermal pools. The coach pick-up point was about a 20-minute walk from Valencia city centre, near Colón metro station. The journey to the excursion area took approximately 90 minutes by coach. The coach was comfortable but nearly full, with very few empty seats on our trip. After arriving, we took a short minibus transfer to the lake for the kayaking portion. The kayaking was the highlight of the excursion. The team was friendly, knowledgeable, and well organized. Our guide gave us a clear safety briefing, answered our questions, shared some of the lake’s history, and even provided a complimentary waterproof phone case. She struck a good balance between guiding the group and giving us time to enjoy the surroundings independently. The kayaking lasted around two hours and proceeded at a relaxed pace, so it was not overly strenuous. We visited two main locations, with opportunities to swim and jump from a low rock ledge. The water was cold during our visit but still refreshing. The thermal pools are also a lovely place, but there is one important tip: move away from the busy main area near the entrance. That section was noisy and crowded during our Saturday visit, which initially made the pools seem underwhelming. Walking farther along the path led us to quieter, cleaner areas with more room to swim, relax, and appreciate the surroundings. Exploring beyond the main pool is what makes this part of the trip genuinely enjoyable. Bring plenty of sunscreen, drinking water, a hat, protective water shoes, a large towel, and some snacks. There was nowhere to buy water during the kayaking portion. Goggles were not particularly useful because the water was too deep to see much. Overall, this was a very enjoyable excursion. The kayaking was excellent, and the thermal pools were well worth visiting once we moved beyond the crowded main area.

We did the hike, it was...
We did the hike, it was quite difficult hike, yet made the dip in the water something to look forward to. Having water shoes is a plus, as the spring floor is shallow and rocky. The bus (transport) situation was little chaotic, with leaving valuables or having to hike with them. Packing light would be highly recommended.

Great place to visit
The activity itself is amazing and worth the visit. My review is based on my experience with this tour. Arrival/ checkin: chaotic and not much communication. We waited 20 min and then I had to ask several guides what we are waiting for and what bus is ours. A simple ticketscan and/or assigning people to their busnumber would really help. We booked the relax tour with surprise stop and no hike. Visiting Montanejos 15 min and le banos. The Montanejos visit was nice but it was an intensive mountain climb hike upstairs and down. View was nice but it was a commercial stop to buy drinks on top of the mountain at a bar. We arrived at the thermalwaters 3 hours from pickup at 11:30 and stayed there untill 15:10. It was quite long and I would suggest bringing your own food. There is 1 cafe there but not that great and pricy. The surprise stop was the waterfall visit. But having 1 hour there is really too short. I would suggest less time at the thermalbaths and more time at the waterfall. The host self Arturo is kind and funny. Would recommend this tour but better communication what to expect would make it way better.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Valencia.
How much does From Valencia: Montanejos Thermal Pools + Hiking, Rafting, Kayak cost?

How long does From Valencia: Montanejos Thermal Pools + Hiking, Rafting, Kayak take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Valencia is not rushed.
Is From Valencia: Montanejos Thermal Pools + Hiking, Rafting, Kayak worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 135 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Valencia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule From Valencia: Montanejos Thermal Pools + Hiking, Rafting, Kayak?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is From Valencia: Montanejos Thermal Pools + Hiking, Rafting, Kayak suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book From Valencia: Montanejos Thermal Pools + Hiking, Rafting, Kayak?
+
Around 47 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Valencia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Valencia and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Valencia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Valencia?
+
On Outty we rank every Valencia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Valencia Bike Tour from the City to the Beach, plus Bike Guy App!, Paella Cooking Class, Wine Tasting & Central Market in Valencia, Real Paella Cooking Class – Market Visit & Sangría Workshop. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Valencia?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Valencia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
