Knowledgeable and friendly guide!

I chose Butlers tours because I wanted a private day tour of Accra and as a solo woman, I liked the idea of a woman owned company and guide. And I was not disappointed! Awuracy picked me up at my hotel and took me to the National Museum of Ghana, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, W.E.B. DuBois Center, the Black Star Gate at Independence Square and the Center for National Culture. She also pointed out sites as we drove around in her private car. It was about a 5 hour tour. Awuracy was a very knowledgeable and friendly guide who provided so much information about Ghanian history and culture. Her tour was a great introduction to Accra and Ghana. Thank you!

Start as a friend in your guide for Ghana in Butlers Tours & leave as family

As a party of 12 with an age range 26 - 72 visiting Ghana to celebrate my brother's 60th birthday I whole heartedly agree with my fellow 'One House family' on what an emotionally amazing time we all had as Lloyd, Caroll & Morton have borne witness to in their reviews of all elements of our Ghanian discovery. The amazing Awuracy & her team guided, inspired, followed our wishes all within a fun-filled safe space. As one of the oldest & less physically able member of our ' One House group' I personally wish to commend Awuracy & team ( Obed & Kokee) on how they were always there with supportive hands in spaces, terrain and & steps I found challenging to navigate . I've left Ghana with life changing memories and joyous heart filled with experiences shared. Blessings Butlers Tours & it's proprietor. Judy (Akua) O. UK Nov.'25

Unforgettable Trip to Ghana with Butlers Tours

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review: Unforgettable Trip to Ghana with Butlers Tours Our trip to Ghana, beautifully organised by and with Butlers Tours, was truly the experience of a lifetime. Every detail was handled with professionalism, and genuine care and attention— from the moment we landed to the day we left. The itinerary was perfectly balanced, allowing us to explore both the rich history and vibrant culture of Ghana. Visiting Accra, Kumasi, Gold Coast — including a powerful and emotional visit to both the Cape Coast Castle and the Elmina Slave Castle. It was a journey of reflection, healing, and reconnection with our ancestral roots. The traditional naming ceremony was one of the most memorable highlights, an intimate and spiritual moment that touched everyone in our group. Throughout the trip, our guides Awuracy and hosts were outstanding — knowledgeable, friendly. Nothing was too much bother, when we asked to tweak the itinerary on route. Awuracy was able to pivot to accommodate our needs. For example we wanted a restuarant by the sea , it was arranged, we wanted to do some shopping Awuracy knew whom to speak to, to get it organised. This journey wasn’t just a holiday — it was a pilgrimage, a reconnection with history, and a celebration of culture. I can’t thank Butlers Tours enough for curating such a meaningful and life-changing experience. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a journey that nourishes the soul and leaves a lasting impact. ❤️

Fantastic, amazing, best holiday ever and that’s saying a lot after a lifetime of tremendous holidays.

What a truly memorable extraordinary experience made so by Awuracy and the Butler tours team. Their energy, helpfulness and joy to serve, stood out in making a 60th birthday pilgrimage and celebration the best it could be! Always vigilant, protective and open to any request, any change of plan you guys were amazing at managing a large group filled with energy and out for fun. Awuracy you treated us like family and we’ve embraced you and your team. Thank you all again for your knowledge, kindness skills and care as we experienced and explored the glorious culture, Accras Makola market sounds and sights, Nkrumah museum and all the Presidents accomplishments. We were challenged to walk canopy bridges high above the conservation forest of Khartoum, faced the beautiful backdrop of a stunning waterfall, “sipped and painted” our favourite memories and you held up up as we swayed with emotion as we walked the grounds of our slave ancestors and adopted our new names as part Of the local chiefs naming ceremony- all so amazing. Can’t think of a single thing your team didn’t think off.. to make our brothers landmark birthday celebration as epic as it was! So many pictures and videos courtesy of the team mean we have the whole experience documented to feast on for years to come! Medasse!!!!

Amazing and enjoyable

Our tour will remain unforgettable due to the excellent delivery and knowledge of our tour guide, Kwesi. We were taken back in time to Ghana’s history as we toured the museum’s artifacts for a day in the life of its ancestors. Our next stop at the Independence Park proved even more exciting and by this time Kwesi had really cemented her bubbly presence in our trip. She next became our personal shopper as she bartered our way through buying our beautiful jewelry and spices Butter Tours and Kewsi really took it home for us and made our trip to Accra one of most memorable vacation Thank you Butler Tours and we can’t wait to visit again!

Response from the operator: Thanks for the review much appreciated and also happy to deliver and make your trip memorable

Experience Accra: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Accra.

How much does Experience Accra cost?

+

Prices start at $82 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Accra usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Experience Accra take?

+

Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Accra is not rushed.

Is Experience Accra worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Accra, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Experience Accra?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Experience Accra suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Experience Accra?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Accra can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Accra and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Experience Accra start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Accra within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Accra?

+

On Outty we rank every Accra experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Coast Castle, Elmina Castle & Kakum National Park Day Tour, Experience the Beauty, History and the Culture Of Accra in a Day, Accra Guided City Tour Cultural and Historical Experience. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Accra?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Accra?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
