May 2026 EBC Trek

We took part in the 15-day Everest Base Camp (EBC) trek with Sherpa Expedition & Trekking in May 2026. The company was organized and efficient from the moment we landed in Kathmandu. They also communicated well regarding pick-up and drop-off to and from our hotel. Our trip started with a day tour in Kathmandu Valley with Shankar as part of our EBC trek package. Shankar is an excellent tour guide with a rich knowledge and passion for Nepali culture, history, and religion. His explanations are thorough, and he can answer all your questions regarding Nepali culture or history. If you would like to get an authentic and in-depth tour of Kathmandu, ask for Shankar. We had the best guide during our EBC trek, Kamal, who was like a good friend to us: kind, knowledgeable, and always focused on our safety and well-being (such as being mindful of mules, porters, and dzopkyos). He provided great advice regarding what foods to order at teahouses to give us the most energy for trekking while preventing any gastrointestinal distress. As we climbed to higher altitudes, Kamal monitored our oxygen levels regularly and consistently checked in with us to ensure we were not showing any signs of high-altitude sickness. We also want to thank our amazing porter, M.P., who always had a cheerful smile as he carried our duffel bags from village to village. We miss them both, but we were so lucky to have them with us on our trek. After finishing the trek, our flight was delayed in Lukla for over a day, and Sherpa Expedition & Trekking quickly arranged for a helicopter service to Kathmandu so we would make our international flight on time. We can not thank Sherpa Expedition & Trekking enough for their professionalism and for keeping us safe throughout our Himalayan adventure. We highly recommend this company for the EBC trek and any trekking or adventure seeking in Nepal!

Absolutely recommend

Unreal experience definitely recommend. Had amazing Lakpa Sherpa and Pasang Sherpa who were our porter and guide and very extremely friendly and knowledgeable which made us enjoy our experience even more.

Best hiking experience of my life

My wife and I went for the Everest Base Camp with Santa as our guide and Mr G as our porter. One moment that stood out to us was when we were on the way to Gorak Shep, Mr G went ahead to drop our bags off at the guesthouse and returned to save us from our day bags as we were not used to hiking at such high altitudes. Both Santa and Mr G took extremely good care of us during our 11 day trip and made sure we were safe especially when we had to hike through certain “off road” areas. We would not have made it to Everest Base Camp without them! We were also liaising with Ram to organise our trip to Nepal. Thanks to Ram’s excellent planning and responsiveness, everything went smoothly and we were able to enjoy ourselves. Would highly recommend going with Sherpa Expedition! Jared

Smooth sailing with scenic views from start to finish

Had a fantastic trip doing the three passes trek! Great communication with Ram about all the logistics ahead of time and very flexible to meet at our hotel late at night to prep us when our flight got delayed into Kathmandu. Our guide Pasang was very helpful and attentive and I am really thrilled to have had a knowledgeable guide to help navigate, particularly in trickier areas like the glacier crossings. We were easily able to flex our trip to shorten by a day to fly out a day sooner and our guide Pasang was happy to adjust according to our needs! We had a great experience and cannot recommend this company enough. Thanks for a great trip!

Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days cost?

+

Prices start at $2400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days take?

+

Plan for about 360 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 75 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 360-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days?

+

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 360-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Everest Base Camp Trek 15 Days start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

+

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour | UNESCO World Heritage sites, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Kathmandu Food and Drink Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
