Transylvania Deep Dive
6 day Vlad tepes related tour. Emil Barbalescu my driver/guide was really friendly, positive ,always entertaining, professional and knowledgeable. Always had a plan B if there were roadworks or places closed unexpectedly . He was really flexible, so we even managed to fit in some extra stops by tweaking the itinerary. Superb level of English. Can't recommend him highly enough. First time I have done this kind of holiday. I usually go on city breaks or driving holidays by myself, so strange being driven but felt safe at all times. Best way to see Romania. It would have been too stressful driving around on my own.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review. We are delighted to hear that your six-day Vlad Țepeș-themed tour was such a memorable experience and that travelling with a private guide made exploring Romania feel easy and stress-free. Your kind words about Emil mean a great deal to us. His friendliness, professionalism, flexibility, excellent English, and ability to adapt quickly when plans changed are exactly the qualities we value in our guides. We are also pleased that he was able to include a few additional stops and make the itinerary feel more personal. It is wonderful to know that you felt safe and comfortable throughout the journey, especially as this was your first experience of this type of holiday. Thank you again for your recommendation. We will be very happy to share your lovely feedback with Emil!

Amazing, personalized, memorable
It was an amazing experience. Adalina accommodated all of our very personal requests and changes in stride. She communicated frequently, to ensure we were comfortable from the first email to the last. All admission fees were handled for us, so we were never in lines or without a ticket. Our guide, Emile, was fantastic. His knowledge was impeccable and very personalized. He regaled is with stories of ancient and medieval history on long trips and his insight into the communist paid off Romania was enlightening as well. After seven days it felt like we were family when we parted. Do not hesitate to book with Rolandia. Trust that they will provide you with a one in a lifetime experience in Romania.

“Dracula Beyond the Legend” Tour Highly Recommended
We cannot speak highly enough about how great our Rolandia “Dracula Beyond the Legend” tour was with our guide Marcel in July/August 2023. Marcel spoke incredible English and was immensely knowledgeable about Romanian history, culture, religion, traditions and its flora, fauna, wildlife and geography. He was also an excellent driver and knew exactly how to make the most of every sight and location. We cannot believe how much we saw and experienced; Marcel was dedicated, excited to show off his country’s impressive culture and landscapes, and absolutely indefatigable in terms of energy. We had an absolutely wonderful time and we highly recommend Rolandia’s tours to anyone and everyone. We felt most privileged to see Romania through Marcel’s eyes and cannot imagine any better way to experience this beautiful and richly cultured country. In addition to all the spectacular sights (Bran Castle, Peles Castle, and Sibiu were among our all-time favs, but honestly there are too many highlights to name), we also got to see brown bears up close in Transylvania! Highly recommended!

An Eye-Opening Wonder
We had a wonderful adventure on this tour, with our excellent and friendly guide, Laurentiu. We never saw so many sunflowers in our lives and the Carpathians were breathtaking. As we wondered, our knowledgeable guide brought the history of the region to life, helping us picture what life was and in many cases, still is like there. We particularly loved Sighisoara and Sibiu -- they are living, breathing medieval towns -- vibrant and fascinating. From the ruins of Vlad's court in Targoviste, to the amazing Black Church in Brasov, to Corvin Castle, Romania was an eye-opening wonder for us. In addition, the people that we interacted with were open and kind, with a good grasp of English, and we enjoyed the European ease of dining whenever you want, and everything was fresh. It was a fabulous trip!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words about your adventure with Rolandia. It's wonderful to know that the warmth of the people you met and the overall experience made your trip fabulous. Warm regards, Rolandia Team

Romania
We have just completed a really enjoyable and interesting 8 day trip through Transylvania which was enhanced by our guide, Gelu, whose knowledge, enthusiasm and experience were superb. All the arrangements made by Rolandia worked exactly as expected. We substituted a visit to Peles Castle rather than Snagov Monastery as the former is of more interest and lay on our route. The accommodation throughout (4* hotels) was better than we had expected. All in all, apart from the Bucharest traffic, it was a most enjoyable trip.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback about your 8-day private tour in Transylvania, exploring Dracula beyond the legend. We're thrilled to hear that you had an enjoyable and interesting trip, and that our guide, Gelu, played a significant role in enhancing your experience with his superb knowledge, enthusiasm, and experience. We're also glad that all the arrangements made by Rolandia worked out as expected and that the accommodation exceeded your expectations.

Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bucharest.
How much does Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania cost?
+
Prices start at $2806 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bucharest usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bucharest is not rushed.
Is Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bucharest, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bucharest can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bucharest and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dracula beyond the legend: 8-day private tour in Transilvania start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bucharest within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bucharest?
+
On Outty we rank every Bucharest experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Real tour of Communism, Bucharest Highlights Walking Tour, Top Gear Road, Small-group max 7 pax with Pick-up, Transfăgărăşan. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bucharest?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bucharest?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
