local flavor
We had a group of 7 and were picked up at the cruise terminal. Bernie was fun and told us about living in Ketchikan. We drove around and she knew where to take us to see an abundance of bald eagles, taste locally produced jams, eat salmon that she caught and was prepared by her friends. We saw a bear too. Make sure you ask to see the airport...very interesting.

personalized experience and led by a local
This experience was amazing and from a true local rather than a fake cruise-ship-owned experience! I loved how personal and private it was - just four of us and our tour guide. I felt as though the price was good especially considering we could have fit more people - we just didn't have a lot of people on this trip! It was three hours and our driver even took us longer because he didn't have another tour after. Our amazing driver (Rick - I think it was) even went back to Herring Cove multiple times to attempt to see a bear catch and eat the salmon... Our only regret was leaving the Cove because when we went back, we had just missed a mama bear feeding her cubs! A cute little waterfall, plenty of eagles, and fresh berries right off the trees!

Oh yea perfect private tour
Viator used orcasongtours@icloud.com. Great company to use. We had a pvt tour to most anywhere we wanted to go in Ketchikan. There were 4 of us and we enjoyed ourselves. Rick was a great safe driver. We let him know what we wanted to see and where we wanted to go. He Let us know what we could see and where he could take us. That combination worked out perfectly for a tour with some bears, fish spawning and beautiful scenery.since it was a private tour, we really wanted to use our time to hang out and watch a momma and her 2 baby bears catch and eat big salmon. It was pouring rain and we didnt even flinch. Good times. Rick took us to a nice park to see and enjoy some info about totem poles and -the story each pole had to share. He gave us lots of background about the indigenous people of Ketchikan. Of course the scenery was beautiful. We also picked and ate some wild huckle berries and wild blueberries. Totally worth the private tour. Thx Rick for a pleasant fun adventure.

Bear hunt private tour
We arrived on celebrity cruise ship at 1:30. We had a minivan waiting for us at 2:30 and we were back at 5:30 next to the ship. We had another 1.5 hours to explode Ketchikan on our own. In 3 hours our guide told us stories about life on Ketchikan . We saw sooooooo many bears ! Mama bear with cubs that just happen to hang out in a creek, eagle, we stopped to have some hockelbarries and blueberries, he got phone call from a friend who told him about whale sightings so he took us a spot where were about to see them from the shore. He was sooo accommodating and knowledgeable about everything we wanted to know !!! It was truly our favorite tour in alaska !!!
Response from the operator: Wow, reviews like these is what we work hard for . I know seeing our guest happy faces makes us more proud of the job we are doing, it’s one in a lifetime for most people and we love giving great memories of our hometown!!

Why this scores 70
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ketchikan.
How much does Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up cost?
+
Prices start at $505 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ketchikan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ketchikan is not rushed.
Is Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 159 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ketchikan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up?
+
Around 56 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ketchikan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ketchikan and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Customizable Tour in Ketchikan with Pick Up start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ketchikan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ketchikan?
+
Ketchikan runs short, cruise-timed excursions: Misty Fjords floatplane flights, Tongass rainforest zip lines, totem park tours, crab feasts and wildlife boats up the Behm Canal. On Outty we rank every Ketchikan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ketchikan Kayak Eco-Tour, Off the Beaten Path Ketchikan Photo Safari - 3 hr., Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Rainforest Canopy Ropes and Zipline Adventure Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ketchikan?
+
May to September, matching the Alaska cruise season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ketchikan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
