Amazing trip excited for next year!
Had an Amazing time with Reel Alaska Fishing charters. Weather was amazing so they took us farther out to there amazing fish spot for big halibut and yellow eye! We were in captain Colbey’s boat and what an amazing boat captain and fishing guide! Definitely felt like family after 3 days of fishing.

Million Dollar Fishing
From the moment we got in the boat, it was first class. The boat was spotless, and Scott, Colby, and Asher were dialed in and ready for fun..... and boy did they deliver. We traveled to a "secret fishing spot," and trust me, I asked because I'm a local, and I wanted to know in case of an emergency (lol). We traveled roughly 45-55 minutes to this spot and instantly started catching fish. We fished for a couple of hours, and Scott suggested we move. As soon as we dropped lines in the water 20 minutes later, BAM, see the picture! As a local and in the tourism business myself, Scott and Colby are the epitome of first-class. It may be considered spending time to go fishing with these boys, but when going fishing in a Ferrari and you catch your limit in about 5 hours, the old saying is "you get what you pay for." It's worth every penny! Take it from a local and book your tour with Reel Alaska. You won't be disappointed. Thank you again Scott and Colby and Asher. Job well done boys!!

Alaska Fishing Trip
Colby was our captain, we had booked a 4 hour salmon fishing, if I would have known we didn't actually leave the harbor I wouldn't have spent the money. As we were fishing Colby told us we should have booked a full day then we could have really fished in open water where the fish are, right then I knew this was a mistake. We caught a couple Salmon and one rock fish which he quickly threw back because we were salmon fishing which I didn't really understand. He text us asking if we wanted to start an hour early so we did hoping we would get 5 hours even if we had to pay a little more but ended up only fishing for about 3 and a half hours. We did get to watch Colby eat chips and listen to country music the entire time, went to get a coke and found he had drank them all. It didn't seem like he cared about fishing he just yelled over to other boats and joked with them maybe this is normal but it was our first time fishing here. He didn't even offer to take a picture of all of us with the fish, we quickly dropped them off for processing and back to the dock as he was making plans for his afternoon.
Response from the operator: What are you talking about didn't leave the harbor Larry? This is ludicrous and nonsense-10 miles one way FAST to where the fish are biting is what you experienced in the nicest sportfishing boat in all of Ketchikan. You caught salmon, and released the rockfish that is CLOSED for non-resident retention- as per the LAW. Sorry your offended Colby drank a Coke? There was an entire compliment of sodas, gatorades, water, juice, chips, cookies, trailmix, sweets and more.......And yes, booking a full day trip definitely expands the time and distance onboard- always good advice when it comes to maximizing your time and memories on the water. This review is a glaring example some people just refuse to be happy and have a good time regardless of their success and time onboard. Ya'll take care and god bless.

Best day fishing with captain Colby Witt
Best fishing day ever. Reel Alaska Fishing Charter with Colby Witt was amazing. All 5 of us fished for King Salmon and Halibut and limited out. Biggest King Salmon I have ever caught myself. We could not of asked for a better captain. We joked around and had fun while catching the catch in a lifetime. If you would like to have a great trip Reel Alaska Fishing will get the job done. Have fished in Ketchikan before and this has been our best catch.

Why this scores 48
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ketchikan.
How much does Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska cost?
+
Prices start at $500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ketchikan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ketchikan is not rushed.
Is Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Ketchikan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ketchikan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ketchikan and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Elite Cruiseship Fishing & Whale Excursions Ketchikan Alaska start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ketchikan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ketchikan?
+
Ketchikan runs short, cruise-timed excursions: Misty Fjords floatplane flights, Tongass rainforest zip lines, totem park tours, crab feasts and wildlife boats up the Behm Canal. On Outty we rank every Ketchikan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ketchikan Kayak Eco-Tour, Off the Beaten Path Ketchikan Photo Safari - 3 hr., Ketchikan Shore Excursion: Rainforest Canopy Ropes and Zipline Adventure Park. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ketchikan?
+
May to September, matching the Alaska cruise season. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ketchikan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
