We LOVED our tour of the...

We LOVED our tour of the Cotwolds! David was an excellent guide with so much information on the area. He provided a great narrative that was interesting and entertaining to the kids and adults in our group! We went to the perfect places to see the well known villages as well as some hidden gems! Also the lunch that was booked was perfect! Would give this day 10 stars if possible!!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re really pleased to hear how much you all enjoyed exploring the Cotswolds with David. It’s great to know that the whole family enjoyed the mix of famous villages and hidden gems, and that David kept both the adults and kids entertained along the way! We’re also glad the lunch was a hit. 10 stars is quite a compliment – thank you! We really appreciate you choosing Tour Britannia and hope to welcome you back for another tour one day.

    Made all the difference.

My wife and I have always loved travel that included the two of us, a car, and a new area to explore. At 76 years old, a 10 day tour of the Cotswolds, ending in Oxford was more than we wanted to try alone, and any kind of structured group tour was not going to happen. Sometimes you get lucky. Tour Britannia was arranged by our travel agent and it was a game changer. By the end of the first hour, our guide Chris heard and got that photography was important. That backroads and authentic was better than tourist stops. By the end of the first day, (Chris was our guide each time a car was involved), it was like I was driving. Add Chris’ enthusiasm, knowledge, and experience and he replaced the initial angst that our age may be getting us closer to that tour bus, with a simply wonderful time. I could go on but suffice it to say that our recommendation for Chris and his family owned company is unqualified. Thanks Chris!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your incredibly kind words. It truly means a great deal to us that your time in the Cotswolds and Oxford was such a memorable experience. At Tour Britannia we love creating trips that feel personal, unhurried, and authentic, so hearing that Chris understood exactly the style of travel you enjoy — from hidden backroads to photography stops and local gems — is especially rewarding. We firmly believe that great travel should never feel like being herded from stop to stop and we are delighted that your trip captured the freedom and spontaneity that make exploring beautiful areas like the Cotswolds so special. It was an absolute pleasure to be part of your adventure, and we’re so grateful to your travel agent for trusting us with your journey. Thank you again for your recommendation and for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. I hope we can get together again for another Tour Britannia adventure.

Private tour is the best for us

Highly recommend! Dave did a great job of showing us parts of the Cotswolds that tourists don't usually see. After Bourton on the Water, we asked him to show us the beauty of the Cotswolds. It was wonderful! Quiet, could close my eyes and hear the birds. He knows the history. It was just 3 of us which made it suited to our interests. And he was kind enough to stop at the grocery for us.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your brilliant review. We know the Cotswolds well and love showing our guests the hidden gems and secret spots most visitors to the area never see. Dave told us how much he enjoyed spending the day with you so it sounds like a great time all round.

Best tour for seeing/visiting the Cotswolds

My husband and I decided to splurge on this private tour of the Cotswolds and we are so happy we did! What a lovely day with our tour guide Christopher. We were picked up promptly at our hotel at 8am and had a wonderful and relaxing 2 hour drive to the Cotswolds. Christopher gave us an overview of our day and told about the history of the region. He even made a lunch reservation for us at a lovely restaurant in Barnsley, which was the highlight of our day. Our first stop of the day was in the lovely village of Bourton-On-The-Water, and we were given time to walk along the river and to explore some of the shops. The other villages were equally as charming and the scenery was spectacular. We can see why this is a much loved region of England and why it has been a must see destination for anyone visiting England. Christopher was very knowledgable about the Cotswolds and also about the history of England in general, so we learned a lot from him. It really made our tour so much more interesting, We can’t thank Christopher enough for his hospitality and his professionalism. We were sad for our tour to end as we felt like we had made a new friend. We definitely would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to visit the Cotswolds, and we would do it again if we could. Thank you Christopher for making this tour the highlight of our visit to England!

Response from the operator: 'The highlight of your visit to England' - What an amazing compliment, thank you so much. We work hard to deliver fantastic tours and great experiences and your kind words mean so much to us. Christopher is very passionate about the Cotswolds and he will be delighted he made your day special. We would love to see you again sometime.

Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for London.

How much does Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London cost?

    +

Prices start at $985 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in London usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in London is not rushed.

Is Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in London, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in London can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in London and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Cotswolds Hidden Gems Private Luxury Local Guide Tour from London start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central London within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in London?

    +

London's best attractions split cleanly: the museums are free and need no booking, so the paid market is about views, theatre and getting out of the city for a day. That makes value scoring unusually important here, and the Outty Ranking penalises anything charging premium prices for access you could get for nothing. On Outty we rank every London experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Soho Music & Historic Pubs Tour, London Small Group Tour of Historical Pubs, The Great British Rock and Roll Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit London?

    +

May to September for long evenings, December for the Christmas markets. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in London?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
