Dodgy tour company
My advice to all is to keep away from Excursiones Rivirera Maya. As soon as I booked a trip through Trip Advisor, I got a message from this company letting me know that we have to pay them Upon Boarding 40 USD each CASH for Local taxes. There was no explanation why they asked money in cash and what for. I had to ask them three times for getting this information. I was aware that tourists have to pay state tax only once upon arrival or it can be paid prior to arrival and keep proof of payment. Why this company is asking us to pay them in cash? Only they know the answers. They still did not answer my query why cash? An arrogant reply from thIS tour company is that I did not read the details prior to booking the one day trip with them. It's Trip Advisor responsibiluty to make sure that they choose tour companies which are honest, not a dodgy company like 'Riviera Maya'. I was left with no choice but to cancel the booking.

We understand that your aim is to dishonestly damage a reputation built over more than 15 years, simply because you did not get what you wanted: to avoid paying the fees—clearly and detailedly described prior to booking—charged by the Mexican government for access to the Jaguar Park protected natural area (home to the Tulum museum and pyramid). We cover these costs months in advance so that our clients can be the first to enter without waiting in lines alongside the mass-tourism buses—which is not the type of service we provide. Your comment has been reported, along with evidence of your aggression, disrespect, mockery, and racist threats directed at our reservations team.

Excellent Day
Jesus was a knowledgeable and passionate tour guide. He explained everything well and then gave everyone time to explore but also answered questions if people wanted to know more. Would be nice if the admission to Tallum was built into the price, rather than requiring cash. We had a wonderful day, highly recommend.

Extraordinary excursion
I had an amazing time! My experience was wonderful, was so beautiful. My tour guide was extremely nice, she even offered to take picture's. I felt safe the entire time, best trip ever. I recommend you book this excursion. Her knowledge of history was exceptional, truly understood everything she was explaining. Got to meet new people that were kind and genuine. 10/10 book it!

Really great experience
Our tour guides Tonantzin and Antonio were wonderful, sharing such interesting information about the geography of the region as well as fascinating details about ancient maya religion and culture. All the activities were well planned and the cenote we visited was magical. If you’re wondering if it’s worth it, it is! Just don’t forget the sunscreen and bug spray!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
Absolutely terrible experience. The communication was awful. Absolutely awful. This is a dishonest tour company. Be very aware that they can and will cancel your booking at the last minute. I had originally booked a tour over a month before the date. Two days before that tour they sent me an email saying that they were not going that day because there weren't enough people and that I had to go the following day or not at all. I have my week planed well in advance and couldn't change the date. Not something anyone wants to deal with on vacation right? Furthermore, they would not cancel it for me. They forced me to cancel the trip on my own so I couldn't leave them any kind of negative feedback directly on their site. After doing some digging it turns out I'm not alone in this experience, their last minute cancellations have ruined many vacations but they work hard to scrub the internet of the negative reviews. Be very cautious when booking with this company. You may or may not go on the tour you booked! Finally, if they reply saying some kind of lie like I had to cancel because of medical reasons (they've done this on other review sites) then know that I WANTED TO GO THE ORIGINAL DAY I BOOKED AS I PLANNED LONG BFORE THET TRIP but couldn't only because they FORCED me to cancel it or else I would have been out all the money. AVOID Excursiones Riviera Maya unless you want to spend time on your vacation rebooking a tour at the very last minute with no help from the people who cancelled it. Frustrating and disappointing. To top it all off, they were rude to me when I asked if they could provide a recommendation for an alternative. Disgusting company.
