2 days 1 night jungle trek
We had an amazing 2-day jungle trek in Bukit Lawang and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Everything was very well organized from start to finish, and our guides were fantastic — friendly, knowledgeable, and always making sure we were comfortable and enjoying ourselves. We saw orangutans and lots of other wildlife, learned so much about the jungle, and had an unforgettable experience sleeping in the middle of the rainforest. The food was also delicious, and everything was handled really well. The whole trek was challenging at times, but absolutely worth it. The guides made the experience fun, safe, and truly special. We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Bukit Lawang! 🌴🦧❤️

An unforgettable jungle experience in Sumatra
The trekking was absolutely incredible — a true immersion into the wild. We hiked deep into the jungle, surrounded by amazing wildlife and vegetation, and spent the night at a campsite right on the riverbank, where the river itself became our shower! It was such a simple, authentic and unforgettable experience. A huge thank you to the whole team who made this adventure so special. Regge, our cook, was amazing — he prepared delicious and abundant meals for everyone. Dhiam was the perfect guide: friendly, funny, extremely knowledgeable and always available to help or explain something about the jungle and its wildlife. We always felt we were in very good hands with him. Daddy, our back guide, was also incredible. He helped us so much, especially during the toughest parts of the trek, always making sure everyone was safe and comfortable. He was also our rafting pilot on the way back, and the rafting itself was such a unique and exciting way to finish the adventure! Overall, this was one of the wildest and most exciting experiences of my life. It felt authentic, adventurous and completely immersed in nature. A huge thank you to our guides for allowing us to experience something so wild and adventurous while always making us feel safe and relaxed. We will never forget it! ❤️🌿

Perfect jungle adventure
We had an amazing experience in the Sumatran jungle! We saw many different species, like the Orang Utans, Gibbons and Hornbills. However the experience can be different here, because there is no guarantee in seeing all the animals. Our Guide and his assistances provided really good information about the jungle and its inhabitants. They also provided excellent food that was delicious. The campsite was fine, and sleeping in the Jungle with all the sounds was quite an experience. All in all it was a perfect adventure and i would highly recommend it! 10/10

360* good experience
Everything organized in details and very much client custom. Unfortunately they don't explain exactly the program, which is a pity because it's definitely well organized. I'd say to follow them, bring flipflops, toilet paper, towels and backpack waterproof cover. For anything else just follow the guides, you'll have great food, see a lot of different animals, interesting explaination and the guides actually speak English

Amazing Jungle Experience
An absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish! Our guides, Andy and Kamel, were exceptional. They were incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and entertaining, and they taught us so much about the jungle, from the plants and wildlife to the local environment. Thanks to their incredible knowledge of the jungle and their ability to move through it as if they had a map in their heads, we were lucky enough to spot 10 orangutans in one day! The overnight stay in the jungle was also a great experience. Everything was very well organized, with a wild camp and an excellent cook who prepared delicious, hot, and plentiful meals for everyone. Having freshly cooked food in the middle of the jungle was a real bonus! The rafting trip on the way back was the perfect ending: fun, exciting, and a great way to finish the adventure. I highly recommend doing this tour with Andy and Kamel. It is a genuinely local experience, and choosing this tour also means supporting the local community and helping create work opportunities for local people. An unforgettable experience that I would absolutely do again!

Why this scores 88
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Medan.
How much does Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic cost?
+
Prices start at $110 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Medan usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Medan is not rushed.
Is Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 88 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 69 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Medan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic?
+
Around 24 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Medan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Medan and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Bukit Lawang Orangutan Trekking 2D1N All Inclusive Medan Basic start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Medan within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Medan?
+
On Outty we rank every Medan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3-Day Ethical Orangutan Jungle Trek | Bukit Lawang, Sumatra, 2 Days and 1 Night Ethical Jungle Trek, Monkey Business 3 days - 2 nights Jungle trekking (including rafting). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Medan?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Medan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
