Private walk with a guide, one way, lunch, views
DO THIS with a guide. My 75yo dad, 12yo daughter and I walked this path of the Gods. It is a bit of a walk with a rest stop along the way. We got a ride from where we were staying in Positano to the start and walked just one way back to Positano. We got there early, had coffee, a croissant, and used the restroom at Cafe Naclerio. We had a guide for just us! About halfway we had lunch at a gentleman’s home who is still working the land there. The history is incredible as are the sights. Wear your walking/hiking shoes - we all wore sneakers - and a backpack with our waters and my dad used walking sticks. It took us about 4hrs including lunch. Then we took the bus back down to Positano.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much Kristen. We were very happy that you enjoyed the Path of Gods. And thank you for those recommendations to other people about shoes & security, it is very important to don't underestimate that hike. Happy days!!!

The Hike of the Gods and...
The Hike of the Gods and lunch at the Shepherds hut was the highlight of our visit to the Amalfi Coast. Gaetano was an amazing guide taking care to give us instructions on what to bring, where to meet and shared insights throughout the trip - Including local legend and mythology, history, agriculture and culture. He was was a dream guide, who took us for lunch at the shepherds hut, where we met Antonio (the shepherd) ate the most authentic Italian lunch we could have hope for, took in amazing views and got up close to donkeys, pigs, goats and herding dogs. Truly was the most amazing and memorable experience my husband and I could have hoped for. Gaetano was also kind enough to agree to be our driver for the trip, taking us door to door for an extra fee, which was totally worth it, since we got a mini tour of the Amalfi coast on our way to/from Positano with key points of interest brought to our attention along the way. Many thanks to Gaetano and Antonio - it was an amazing experience and everything I hoped it would be! The highlight of our trip without question! :-)
Response from the operator: Thank you very much, Molly and Christian, it has been an amazing day: beautiful weather, not many people on the Path, and at the shepherd's hut was really entertaining and the food is always delicious... Grazie

Path of the Gods with Gaetano – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience
Review: Path of the Gods with Gaetano – A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience Hiking the Path of the Gods with Gaetano was truly beyond words. The views were nothing short of breathtaking, but what made the experience unforgettable was Gaetano himself. His passion, knowledge, and personalized attention turned an already spectacular hike into something magical. Not only did he guide us safely along stunning cliffs and panoramic vistas, but he also brought the landscape to life—pointing out wild herbs, walnut trees, fig trees, and countless other natural treasures that ancient Italians once used and still rely on today. It felt like stepping into history with a guide who knew every inch of the path and every story it held. The highlight of the day was lunch at a shepherd’s hut, where everything was fresh from the garden or farm. As a surprise for Carla’s 50th birthday, Gaetano made sure there was a candle placed in her pasta—a beautiful, thoughtful gesture that made the moment even more special. If you’re considering hiking the Path of the Gods, don’t hesitate—book it with Gaetano. You’ll get more than just a hike; you’ll get an unforgettable memory and world-class hospitality. Can’t recommend it enough.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much, Esther & Carla. It was a great day, and the weather was amazing, no humidity, very clear and thin air, vivid colours of Mother Earth, and you were interested in everything that the Path of Gods has. I'm very happy you both had a good time, and a great celebration for Carla's birthday :) All the best

Glorious Experience
Path of the Gods hike does not disappoint with many gorgeous views of the Amalfi Coast , beautiful hillside farms, vineyards and homes! The wildflowers were also in bloom and the morning temperatures were pleasant for hiking. Sweet donkeys and goats also made an appearance on the nearby hillsides. A MUST DO is a midday stop at the Shepherd’s Hut for a delicious lunch, more AMAZING Mediterranean views that are topped off with moving acoustic guitar songs and serenades. Our considerate guide Gaetano points out blooming flowers, geographic and historical points of interest as well!
Response from the operator: Grazie mille, Lauren. Indeed was an amazing day, espacially because everything was blooming. And the spot at the shepherd's hut is really something special. Thank you

Why this scores 78
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Positano.
How much does Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut cost?
+
Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Positano usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Positano is not rushed.
Is Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Positano, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Positano can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Positano and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods Hike & Food at Shepherd's Hut start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Positano within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Positano?
+
On Outty we rank every Positano experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cooking class with Pasta, mozzarella and Tiramisu with wine, Capri and Blue Grotto Semi Private Boat Day Trip from Sorrento, From Sorrento: Positano & Amalfi Coast Boat Tour with Pick Up. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Positano?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Positano?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
