Excellent experience

Aqua excursions made my scuba diving dreams come true! My 13yo son and I started our open water certification with Leo in Viva Maya and was whisked to Cozumel for the open water dives. Chris was great, my son found him hilarious! Worked thru our nerves with skills testing but the fun dive made it all worthwhile! The only regret was not booking more dives lol will be back for sure!

Just don’t.

This is my second scuba trip with Viator and both were very low quality. It is best to Google reputable places in the area and buy directly. The boat was complete garbage, the transport was packed full, the snorkel equipment was the cheapest I had ever seen anywhere. No booties for scuba and only fins that hurt your feet. Our dive master was good, though. This was the only dive trip I’ve ever been on where they forgot to turn on my air. I jumped in the ocean and couldn’t breathe. I understand it was my responsibility to check but the assured me I was good to go. Lesson learned. Don’t do this excursion.

Incredibly friendly and helpful instructors

Did the 2 tank Cozumel dive through aqua excursions as part of my PADI open water training and could not be happier. During a dive off the coast from the hotel we were staying at (also through aqua excursions), I experienced pain in my tooth while descending. Rodolfo (the dive master for my 4 qualifying dives) went out of his way to take me to a dentist in his free time to ensure that I was able to continue. During the Cozumel dives we were able to see 3 nurse sharks, a barracuda, a resting loggerhead turtle, a splendid toad fish which is endemic to only Cozumel, 2 foot long pufferfish, many lobsters, and more rays than I can count. Overall I could not recommend this trip enough as both the dives and the staff were incredible.

Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing to dive with us! :) We are so happy you had a great time! We are definitely commited to our clients and a tooth ache was not going to stop you from having all that fun, we are glad you are ok, the pain went away and you are happy as a clam! Hope to see you back soon!

Amazing dive company - felt totally locked after the whole time

These guys are amazing from start to finish, they look after you 100% of the time. I’m here celebrating a notable birthday and not as strong as I used to be. I had bought all my own diving gear which is heavy, they carried it for me from transport to ship and from ship to dive site. For this I was very grateful it made the whole experience much more enjoyable. Talking to Luis Fabian on the way to the ship I mentioned that I didn’t have a camera, he made sure I completed my dives with him and took lots of pictures and sent them to me. This is definitely going above and beyond. Through the whole trip nothing was too much trouble for the guys they were amazing thank you so much this is truly a five star dive company and I would definitely recommend them.

Open water certification dive

My Son completed his PADI open water dive course with Fabian. He was very knowledgeable, detailed and professional. I ran a military dive school for 2 years and have dove all over the world. Sometimes recreational diving lacks details and preparation. They were prepared and knowledgeable. We saw turtles, crab, lobster, eels and plenty of fish. Took some cool GoPro videos. My son received detailed and expert instruction. A great family event.

2 Tank Dive in Cozumel: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.

How much does 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel cost?

+

Prices start at $290 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.

Is 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel?

+

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 2 Tank Dive in Cozumel start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?

+

On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
