The coolest thing I've ever done!

This private Chichen Itza tour is a must!!! My family and I traveled to Mexico for a wedding and extended the trip an extra day to do this because it was highly recommended. We booked through a travel agent and were lucky to have Claudia and Sir William as our tour guide and driver. They are knowledgable, friendly and very funny! I feel like I learned so much about Mayan culture and really enjoyed how much Claudia shared with us. Visiting a cenote after learning about why they're so abundant in this region of Mexico was a once in a lifetime adventure. We swam with a fairly small group and got to enjoy on our own pace (and the lunch before hand was incredible - don't skip the chicken tortilla soup!) I'd do this tour again in a heartbeat and it was well worth the money!

Best private tour of Chichen Itza!

If you're deciding between a group tour and a private guide for Chichen Itza, book Living Dreams Mexico and don't look back. This was hands down one of the best experiences of our trip. Johnny picked us up early from our hotel in a clean, safe car stocked with snacks, and thanks to the early start we were literally the first group inside Chichen Itza that day. Having the site to ourselves before the crowds arrived made it feel so much more special. Johnny himself made the whole day. He's incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture, genuinely funny, and clearly loves what he does. I learned more from him in a few hours than I expected to learn all trip. After Chichen Itza, he took us to Ek Balam, then suggested a private cenote where we were the only people swimming. Having that natural cenote entirely to ourselves was magical and not something we would have found on our own. For lunch, instead of the typical tourist buffet, he brought us to an authentic local Mexican restaurant that was some of the best food we had in Mexico. If you're booking a tour with this company, trust your guide and say yes to their suggestions. It made all the difference. Highly, highly recommend.

Response from the operator: Thank you for choosing Living Dreams Mexico for such a special day. It means a lot to know that Johnny helped make the experience memorable, from starting early and sharing his knowledge to finding those quieter, more authentic moments along the way. We will be sure to share your kind words with him. We truly appreciate the trust you placed in his recommendations and the time you took to write such a thoughtful review. It was a pleasure having you with us, and we are so happy the day became one of the highlights of your trip.

Living Dreams Mexico a great way to see Chicken Itza

Using Living Dreams Mexico for our Chichen Itza tour was one of the best decisions we made on the whole vacation. Everything could not have been easier. And our tour guide, Beto, was happy to alter elements of the tour to suit our preferences. The van was well air conditioned and comfortable and stocked with plenty of drinks. And I really can't say enough about how great Beto was as a guide. It's worth considering requesting him by name.

Response from the operator: It really means a lot to know that we could be part of such an important day of your vacation. We love hearing that you felt comfortable making the experience your own, and we’ll definitely share your kind words with Beto. He puts a lot of heart into what he does, so I know this will mean a lot to him. Thank you for trusting Living Dreams Mexico with your Chichén Itzá experience and for taking the time to leave us such a thoughtful review. We truly appreciate it.

Amazing experience

Amazing experience we booked with Kay Tours and our driver Guilermo and guide Alex were superb. We got to Chichen Itza early before the crowds and heat were too much, Alex talked to us about not just the site but the local history aswell. We drove to a beautiful cenote for a very welcome and refreshing swim, lovely buffet lunch and a quick trip to Valladolid. An amazing day, from start to finish! Perfecto

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review. It was a pleasure being part of your visit, and we are so happy to know the day flowed so well from beginning to end. Starting early to enjoy Chichen Itza in a more comfortable setting, followed by time to relax at the cenote and explore Valladolid, makes for a truly special experience. We will make sure Guillermo and Alex receive your kind words. They are passionate about creating meaningful experiences, and we know they will appreciate your recognition of their dedication and knowledge. Thank you for placing your trust in us, and we hope to welcome you back to Mexico for another unforgettable adventure.

Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.

How much does Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch cost?

+

Prices start at $235 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.

Is Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 93 out of 100, which we label "90+ Club". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1,142 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch?

+

Around 400 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip the Line Chichen Itza Private Tour, Sacred Cenote & Lunch start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?

+

On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include VIP Chichen Itza Private Tour, VIP Tulum Private Tour, Chichen Itza Private Tour VIP. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
