    • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
    • Day 01: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding(2,651m/8,700ft): 30 minutes flight, 3 – 4 hours trek
    • We take an early morning flight to Lukla and start our trek. The trail then leads to Phakding via Cheplung village from where we get a magnificent view of Mt. Khumbila, a sacred mountain that has never been summited. Overnight at Phakding
    • Day 02: Phakding – Namche (3,438m/11,280 ft): 4- 5 hours
    • We continue our walk on the trail that goes north up the Benkar valley. We cross Dudh Koshi River and pass Chumoa and Monjo villages leading the entrance to the Everest National Park. Then we pass Jorsale village crossing a suspension bridge and walk alongside the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers. We continue our trek ascending on a steep trail and reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
    • Day 03: Acclimatization Day – Namche Bazaar: (3,440m/11,284ft)
    • We explore Namche Bazaar and hike-up to Sagarmatha National Park and enjoy the sunrise over the Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Kongde and so on. If we are interested in a day hike, we can trek to Khumjung village. Overnight in Namche Bazaar.
    • Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,870m/12,694ft): 5- 6 hours
    • The trek until Phunki is an easy walk. From here we ascend towards Tengboche village exploring the famous Tengboche monastery which is the biggest monastery of the Everest region. It is located within the Sagarmatha National Park which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The monastery is blessed with panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, and Thamserku. The Tengboche Monastery opens at 3:00 pm, so if we reach there by 4 o’clock we can observe a Buddhist religious ceremony.
    • Day 05: Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m/14,300 ft): 5 – 6 hours
    • We walk downhill to Debuche and cross the Imja River to reach Pangboche. The trek continues passing through the upper Pangboche trail and exploring the Pangboche Monastery. We continue our walk to Dingboche via Imja Valley and Lobuche River. Overnight at Dingboche.
    • Day 06 : Dingboche: Acclimatization
    • Spending a day in Dingboche will help us to acclimate to the high altitude. We can spend time hiking to the hill about four hours behind Dingboche to view the world’s tallest peaks including Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu. Overnight at Dingboche.
    • Day 07: Dingboche – Lobuche (4,900 m)
    • The trek continues walking around 7 hours (9 km) along the Himalayan trail heading towards the famous base camp of the world’s tallest peak exploring the breathtaking magnificent view of the mountains. The trail then continues via Dughla pass to the mountain village of Lobuche for the overnight stay
    • Day 08: Lobuche – Gorak Shep 5160 m – Everest Base Camp 5365 m
    • Today we continue our trek to Everest Base camp walking long day nearly 12 hours (17 km) to Gorakshep. After reaching Gorak shep, check-in at the lodge, have lunch and walk to the Base Camp to enjoy amazing views of Nuptse, Khumbuste and Pumori mountains. Then we walk back to Gorakshep from the base camp for overnight stay.
    • Day 09: Gorakshep – Kala Pathar 5555 meters – Pheriche 4200 m
    • After early breakfast, we walk up to the highest point of the trek, Kalapatthar for a magnificent view of the world’s tallest Everest and several other mountains like Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse mountains. It takes about three hours to reach the top. After spending some time at the summit of Kala Patthar, we walk back to Gorak Shep for lunch which is relatively easier than hiking up to Kala Patthar. After lunch, we hike down to Pheriche to spend the night.
    • Day 11: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,441 m) – 7 hours
    • Leaving the mountains behind us, our descent takes us through Pangboche and Tengboche before continuing to the town of Namche Bazaar. We arrive back to Namche in the afternoon. Overnight at a guesthouse.
    • Day 11: Trek to Lukla (2,804 m) – 6 hours
    • This is our last day of trekking as we return to Lukla where the trek began. We enjoy this time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. The afternoon is free, so you can wander about, relax and enjoy a hot shower! In the evening, have a few celebratory drinks and dance with your trek mates. Overnight at a guesthouse.
    • Day 12: Lukla – Kathmandu (1400 m)
    • We catch an early morning flight to Kathmandu after our long mountain journey. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be transferred to your hotel. We take you for a cultural dinner in the evening. Overnight in Kathmandu.
    • Please note that often the Kathmandu - Lukla-Kathmandu flight gets delayed by a few hours or may even be canceled for one, two, or more days due to unfavorable weather conditions. Such conditions may arise even in the best seasons. Hence, in such cases, you must be prepared for long waits either at Kathmandu or Lukla airports, as this can happen either at the start or end of the trek or even both

EBC trek- Two years later we made it and what an experience it was!

We decided to the Everest Base camp trek and booked with Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure (HSA) back in 2020 pre- COVID. When we had to cancel everything due to the pandemic , Bishnu from HSA quickly authorized the refund and we got our money back from Tour radar straight away. In the nearly two years that followed for us to re-book everything to attempt to the Everest base camp hike again, Bishnu kept in contact with us giving us an update on the COVID situation in Nepal and just general advice about travelling to Nepal during a pandemic. He made us feel secure and wanting to book a big trip such as Everest base camp again during these uncertain times. The service from Bishnu was excellent from the start- meeting us at the airport to dropping us back there for our return flight to the UK. The leaving gift of a Nepalese scarf was a nice touch as we left Nepal with fond memories of our EBC trip and holiday. He was also very flexible in accommodating changes we requested to our itinerary such as moving our Kathmandu city tour to another day in order to accommodate a visit to the Chitwan National Park post the EBC trek. In summary, we could not have chosen a better company then HSA for our unforgettable EBC trek. I would highly recommend HSA for anyone looking to book an EBC trek or holidaying in Nepal.

Response from the operator: Hello Jeny Anton Thank you for taking the time to leave us this lovely review ! We’ll make sure your comments are passed on to our wonderful team, It’s all possible through our local expertise, knowledge, and experience that we can offer incredible trips. Thank you again and we hope you’ll choose Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure for your next adventure ! - HSA Team

    Excellent Service and Planning

Wow! What an experience to see the mystical site of Everest Base Camp. We also trekked over Chola pass to Gokyo before returning back to Lukla. From the very beginning, the service and attention to details was superb by the staff. From the moment my family and I arrived in Kathmandu, Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure was there to help plan our trip. From giving us ideas of where to trek to escorting us to a store to purchase necessary equipment, they were there to lend a hand. I also felt like they never were pushy or trying to promote something to us we didn't want. They allowed us to make a decision and then we went from there. It was seamless. They purchased the airline tickets to Lukla for us. While trekking, you could sense the care that the guide and porter provided us. As customers, our needs were important. It is nice that "service" to the customer still means something here. The guide was helpful in teaching us about the culture of the region, as well as providing us with the facts about the scenery. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. I definitely would recommend Himalayan Sanctuary Adventures to friends and family. You will not be disappointed.

Response from the operator: Hello Gray, Namaste !!! Thank you for such a delightful feedback in regard of your Experience with us to Everest Base Camp Trek Via Gokyo lakes with Chola Pass. We are happy to hear your trip went outstanding with our diligent Staff. We truly respect their dedication and sincerity towards work. Moreover, we were able to take it beyond your expectations. It was pleasant to know you loved our services, guides, and assistance for a trek . Likewise, remember us for your next trip to the Himalayas. We would surely love to organize another spectacular trek for you. With warm regards, HSA Team

EBC Trek- Amazing, to say the least

Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure organized everything for us from transfers to and from the hotels, permits for trekking, Guide and Porter for trekking, Accommodation during the trek, food on the trek, duffel bags (which is needed for the trek) . We were delayed by two days due to weather in Lukla and this was beyond our control, however bishnu were able to arrange with hotels and transport for the extra nights in Kathmandu. The journey to EBC is spectacular with amazing views and wonderful friendly people however not an easy one, it really is something that tests you as an individual and one needs to be strong minded when performing this trek. I am proud and glad to say I have achieved this. We definitely received great hospitality from the Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure who went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience, in my opinion, if one is thinking about doing any trekking in Nepal don't even think about any other company besides Himalayan Sanctuary Adventure. Bishnu , Prem and all the Trekking Staff are wonderful who will go out of their way for you to ensure you achieve your goals.

Response from the operator: We do appreciate for such a remarkable feedback and kind words. It is great for us to read about what sounded a truly unforgettable experience you had. We are proud of our commitment to provide great service with intimate knowledge of our staff in the region, culture , Thank you again for your kind review and will pass on your compliments. Hope to see you on another adventure with us in the not to distant future

12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kathmandu.

How much does 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek cost?

    +

Prices start at $1,390 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kathmandu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek take?

    +

Plan for about 288 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kathmandu is not rushed.

Is 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kathmandu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 288-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kathmandu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kathmandu and add a light layer if any part of the 288-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kathmandu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kathmandu?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kathmandu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kathmandu Sightseeing | UNESCO World Heritage sites Private/Group, Manaslu Circuit Trek, Manaslu Circuit Trek: Private Group & Discounte Price. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kathmandu?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kathmandu?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in 12 Days Everest Base Camp Trek?

Not included: Nepalese visa fee; Excess baggage charge(s); Entrance Fee for Sightseeing; and Extra night accommodation in Kathmandu because of early arrival, late departure, early ret.
