Your guide can suggest other sightseeing points that better suit your interests. This tour has two options for guides: a local guide or a professional tour guide. Highly recommended!
We booked a private Zurich walking tour and it was an amazing experience. Our guide Peter was highly knowledgeable ,pleasant and friendly. He kept us engaged through out the tour.We were late for the tour but Peter and company went extra mile to accommodate us.The tour tremendously helped us to utilise our limited time in Zurich. Our children loved FIFA museum,Lindt Museum and Old Town visit which we would not have been able to cover if Peter has not provided us an outline in our walking tour with him.Highly recommended.!

Our tour guide, Peter,...
Our tour guide, Peter, was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable about Zurich, but he admitted, it was mostly from a business perspective and not so much historic or building focus, which was disappointing. He very much wanted to make our tour what we wanted, but he wasn't very organized and not at all as take charge as we are used to, as we are seasoned travelers who have used local tour guides extensively throughout Europe (Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Portugal to mention a few). Even when we told him that we weren't interested in what he proposed, he still tried to get us to do that. This is the first Viator tour in which we have been disappointed. We were looking forward to learning all about Zurich after having spent 8 days traveling the country in another tour, and were disappointed. I don't think I can say whether or not I would recommend the tour to anyone else, I would suggest that you be sure your tour guide knows what you want to do/see and has an itineray set to make that happen.
Response from the operator: This is a tour with a local guide. You rented a local to accompany you, and this is the concept of all our tours. On such a tour, it is pretty normal that guides do not have serious knowledge about history. It is not a tour with a historian or specialized guide. Our price is very affordable for Swiss standards. Switzerland is a luxury destination. Your comparison with other (cheap) countries in Europe (Greece, Portugal, Croatia) is total unfair nonsense. Those countries have much lower living costs and salaries than Switzerland. The price of our tour is roughly the same as that of a professional guide in those countries. So, of course, in Switzerland you cannot expect the same level of service if you are paying this little. We are in Switzerland, not in Portugal! You claim to be a season traveller, yet you seem not to be understanding this. I do not appreciate that you made up something and blame the guide for pushing you to visit a certain place. The guide had no clue what you meant. You obviously had certain expectations of what you wanted to see and not. You have to communicate this clearly to the guide at the start of the tour. Otherwise, they will do the standard tour or show you what they think is interesting. You didn't communicate this clearly, and after the tour complained that you did not get to see everything you wanted. It is very unfair.

Unprofessional Company!!!
I will never be booking with this company ever again. The texts sent to me from the company about fees when booking through Viator, that are out of my control, were very unprofessional and quite frankly unnecessary. One time, ok but three times? No. To add onto that our guide barely spoke English so unfortunately we could barely understand him and did not enjoy our tour. Yes, we are in a different country but if you’re a tour guide you should have some sort of ability to talk in English if the client speaks English which was mentioned we booking the tour. The tour guide was nice and if anything I felt bad for him having to try to speak English. We also booked a tour with them in Lausanne and when I texted the contact number on the ticket I received a text that said “I’m not the tour guide😂” then they asked if I received the info the sent me morning of, our travel agent booked it so I said no he said “these travel agents😂”. UNNECESSARY.

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zurich.
How much does Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $88 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zurich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zurich is not rushed.
Is Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zurich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zurich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zurich and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Zurich Highlights Private Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zurich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Zurich?
+
On Outty we rank every Zurich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Zurich Food Tour with 10 Local Delicacies, Cheeses & Chocolates, Private, excellent guided tour of Zurich (from CHF 21/pers.), Zürich Historic District Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Zurich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Zurich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
