Amazing snorkeling and cultural experience!
Our family of 13 including 6 preteen & teens and 5 adults from across the US & New Zealand took this fantastic tour during our vacation to Mexico. Manny our guide and Miguel our captain were just the best! Easy boarding then boated to another dock to pick up a lovely honeymoon couple. We boated to the isolated village of Yelapa first, only accessible by boat. We hiked up to the waterfall and splashed in the fresh water pool. Manny clearly knew the locals and told us they make their living off of tourists, so we made a few purchases. I bought a beautiful rosewood mortar & pestle from a local woodworker & we had amazing empanadas on the way down. Check out the local agave moonshine! After reboarding, we stopped in a small inlet to snorkel. It was an amazing experience. Such abundance of beautiful fish! Back on the boat we stopped at another beach for a lunch of delicious ceviche & cervesas and some swimming. This was a lovely introduction to a culture and landscape very different our own. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review. We’re honored that you chose to spend part of your family vacation with us, and we’re delighted to hear that all 13 members of your group enjoyed such a memorable day exploring Yelapa and the beautiful coastline of Puerto Vallarta. We’re especially pleased to hear that Manny and Captain Miguel helped make your adventure safe, enjoyable, and enriching. We’ll be sure to share your kind words with them, as recognition like yours means a great deal to our team. It’s wonderful to know that you enjoyed the hike to the waterfall, the incredible snorkeling, the delicious lunch, and the opportunity to experience the local culture while supporting the community of Yelapa. Our goal is to offer much more than a boat tour by creating an experience that combines nature, adventure, authentic flavors, and meaningful cultural connections. Thank you for your recommendation and for choosing Los Veranos Canopy. We look forward to welcoming you and your family back for another unforgettable adventure in Banderas Bay.

Miguel and Mane to very good care of us on this tour. Great knowledge, safe, and knew the locations. Had a lunch on the beach after Yelapa was an interesting stop but worth it for the waterfall. We had the VIP treatment by Miguel and Mane. If you want a great day trip with good stops and good food, consider this tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind and thoughtful review! We’re delighted to hear that Miguel and Mane made your experience truly special with their knowledge, care, and professionalism. Yelapa and the waterfall are always memorable stops, and we’re glad you enjoyed the lunch by the beach as well. We truly appreciate your recommendation and look forward to welcoming you for another great adventure!

Great excursion!
Great experience with a friendly crew. The waterfall was beautiful and the snorkeling didn’t disappoint. We could have swam a little big longer.

Enjoyed this 4 hour tour
It was 4 hours, the speedboat had a full canopy over all passengers, which was great sun protection. Benjamin, our tour guide, was top notch - friendly and very knowledgeable about the village of Yelapa, the PV area, and marine life. Alonso, the boat captain, was awesome. Delicious lunch and good snorkeling. The tour group was professional, punctual and very friendly.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed and kind review! 💚 We’re so glad you enjoyed the 4-hour tour and appreciated every part—from the sun-shaded speedboat to the delicious lunch and marine adventure 🌊🐟 Special thanks for recognizing Benjamin and Alonso! We’re proud to have such knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate guides on our team. Knowing that everything was well organized and punctual means the world to us. We’d love to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey soon!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Puerto Vallarta.
How much does Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat cost?
+
Prices start at $109 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Puerto Vallarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Puerto Vallarta is not rushed.
Is Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 34 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Puerto Vallarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat?
+
Around 12 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Puerto Vallarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Puerto Vallarta and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Yelapa Escape & Snorkeling in Puerto Vallarta by Speedboat start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Puerto Vallarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Puerto Vallarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Puerto Vallarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Winner 2026 Downtown Vallarta Food Tour with Vallarta Food Tours, Signature Taco Tour in PV with Vallarta Eats, Food & Mixology Tour:Tequila,Tacos, Mezcal and Agave Cocktails. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Puerto Vallarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
