Daniel was extraordinary, as was the guy at the front desk, extremely kind, we liked the place a lot in general, lots of attention, everything clean, included services in very good condition, we are from Cancún, we traveled with my parents and my sister and having the opportunity to socialize with people from other countries was very nice, I liked it, it is definitely worth the trip and the tour to spend a pleasant day!!!! -Leevey Ortega

we did not see much.
We did this as part of a full day excursion. This was disappointing as there were really not many fish, the water was green and hard to see in. Overall it just felt like snorkeling in a lake. We saw a lot more just going up and down the beach at our resort.
Response from the operator: Dear visitor, We appreciate the time you took to leave us your message. We would like to mention that the visibility and presence of marine life can vary greatly depending on natural factors such as weather, tides, and the time of year, which may have affected what you were able to see that day. We’re sorry to hear that the snorkeling conditions did not meet your expectations during your visit. Your feedback is valuable, and we will share it with our team to help us continue working on ways to enhance the experience for our visitors. Kind regards. Brenda H. Customer Service. Beware of aggressive staff.
I would love to give Yal Ku park five out of five, and would have done so after our first visit. We are staying in Akumal for two weeks, so we made a return visit which left us feeling less than enthusiastic. On our first visit, we were given visitor tags to hang around our necks because we wanted to eat lunch in the café first then check out the facilities before making a decision. This worked well, I decided to go in, so went back to the gate and paid for my admission, which included a lifejacket, and I had my own snorkeling equipment. My husband does not swim, and settled in a chair near the water to keep an eye on me and my stuff. No problems at all and we had a lovely afternoon. Yesterday we went back and did the exact same thing. However, this time, while I was swimming, my husband was told he could not sit in the park because he had not paid the entrance fee. He explained and showed his visitor tag, where upon the attendant went to get another man who spoke better English and was very aggressive and unpleasant to my husband. He told him he had to go back to the café, now closed, and sit there. My husband was concerned that when I came out of the water, I wouldn’t be able to find him, and the man assured him that the nearby lifeguard would be there the whole time and would tell me what had happened. When I came out of the water to have a rest and sit in a chair with my husband, I found my clothes, but my husband and my other belongings were gone. I assumed he had gone to the restrooms, and sat down to relax for a while. Then I got concerned and went to look for him. All of this took at least half an hour, and no one told me where he had gone, and I didn’t think to go back to the cafe. Eventually, he grew anxious and came and found me and told me what happened. He was very uncomfortable about the whole thing and the way he was treated as if he was trying to cheat. No one had explained that the visitor tags were only good for the café and that he could not step outside of that area without paying. Last week everything was fine, this week it made for a very unpleasant experience because the two men were so aggressive and rude. Bottom line you have to pay the full price even if you don’t want to go in the water otherwise you will be treated like a criminal.
Response from the operator: Dear visitor, We appreciate the time you took to leave us your message. For us, all our visitors are very important. We are sorry that your experience was not the best due to some members of our staff on your last visit. This is a situation that surprised us because as a company we work with all the personnel with high customer service skills. Additionally, we are committed to providing in the best way all the information to our visitors. What you've mentioned is far from our service and quality standards which define us. To better address your message, we've sent your comments to the corresponding department and you can rest assured that we'll take all the necessary measures to strengthen our customer service skills with all the staff. Yal-Kú Eco Park in Akumal !! 🐠✨🩵🌴
We booked our entrance tickets through GetYourGuide and we had such a nice day !! Being able to swim and relax next to such beautiful, clear waters is such a dream 🥰 With the standard ticket, you get entrance to the park and a life jacket (which is mandatory). There’s also the option to rent snorkelling equipment and lockers etc, but if you have your own mask you can take it too !! There’s lots of tropical fish to see !! 🐠 The restaurant is also very tasty.. it’s great to have a drink by the lagoon, and enjoy a bite to eat😍We had the Yal-Kú Quesadillas & the Chicken Sandwich.. perfect for inbetween swimming and sunbathing🌞 Definitely pay a visit to Yal-Kú if you are in Akumal !! 💙
Response from the operator: Dear Jess & Josh, Thank you so much for visiting Yal-Kú! It's a great pleasure to read such an amazing review and we're so glad to hear you enjoyed your experience at our eco-park. All your kind comments are really important and motivate us to continue providing excellent service. We'd love to have you back soon! Kind regards. Daniel G. Customer Service. YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa del Carmen.
How much does YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket cost?
+
Prices start at $16 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa del Carmen usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa del Carmen is not rushed.
Is YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa del Carmen, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa del Carmen can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa del Carmen and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does YAL-KU Park in Riviera Maya Admission Ticket start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa del Carmen within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa del Carmen?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa del Carmen experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chichen Itza from Cancun : Cenote, Valladolid and Mayan Cuisine, Ride to a life changing cenotes tour, From Playa del Carmen ATV Adventure with Ziplines, Cenote. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa del Carmen?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa del Carmen?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
